So I was reading crailtap.com just now and this was in one of the updates:

"Did you know that earlier this month DVS wake skater, Benji Cans, won the Toulouse Wakeskate Cup? He did. And now he's moving to Bali to be a part of some wake skate school. That's right, wake skate updates from now on!"

Im not really sure what it means or who Benji Cans is or what the toulouse wakeskate cup is.

Are they making fun of wakeskaters?

I would guess they're "taking the mickey" out of dvs' update, and possibly wakeskating, since last year they made fun of parks bonifay's pic on the DVS site, saying, "You don't wear shoes in the water!"

Alright, so I filled my daily quota for "using english slang."

I love how wakeboarding and now wakeskating can never get respect from the rest of the "industry"...early wakeboarding was ghey because of the waterskiing influence, i can understand that, but c'mon, it's grown up and is a legit boardsport...the same people that knock it probably bungee-kayak and sky surf when they're not sucking at skateboarding

cfxomega, I would suspect that it will come in time. Snowboarding had to prove itself to skating, wakeboarding had to prove itself (and still is in certain regards), so it's no surprise that wakeskating has to do the same. In the end, there are riders that push for legitimacy. (no matter how hard some people kick and scream while saying "who cares about the rest??") To some, it does matter. I'd say that it does matter to me, because I don't want wakeskating to turn into the rollerblading or "scootin'" of the watersports industry. It's nice to be respected by the company you keep...nobody wants to be a so-called read-headed stepchild.

Wakeskating is still young and has actually progressed in leaps and bounds since 1996. I'm pretty psyched that it is where it is, that we have what we have, and that we have the riders we have pushing the art of riding and design.

Anyway, some skaters are total loyalists and nothing will ever be good enough, regardless of the trick or art. As it goes, you'll never please everyone...

def headed in the right direction...hmm...i love how closely knit the wakeskating comunity is and how people are meeting up from all over the world to session a certain gap(metro west most recently and im sure many more to come). i dunno, its just so incredible to me how people are getting together, making things happen, and pushing wakeskating to the next level.

dam im goin crazy i needa ride bad right now. pwc broken Sad
