ok ppls, i tried wakeskating on a friends wakeskate, but i think i was too heavy for it, because everytime i went to get up, the skate went underwater, or it coulda been me, never done it before, anyways i never got up, so i was thinkin about buyin a wakeskate for myself, but which one do get? first i heard weight and size doesnt matter, then i heard it does, im 6' 5 and 200+ lbs so which skate do i get? just being on my friends and the feeling of starting to get up made me want to do it even more, but she is also arounf 5' and prob all of 100 lbs so iono what board i should get, or will anyboard work, or was it just me, being a first timer not knowing what i was doin?

getting up is a big battle, can u wakeboard? if u havent u should try getting up on a wakeboard first to get a feal of it.

when getting up its easier to start with you boady a lil above the board and have to board under ur feet acting like a hyrdofoil instead of a plow.

second off about the boards. you should be able to get up on almost any wakeskate, im 200 and just under 6ft and i can get up on a 39 fine, although i feel at home on a 41 or 42. maybe for ur size u might want to check out the inpulse 43 or 43 wide. a good skate with a good surface area and under 200 bucks

ok, i found it here, http://www.wakeworld.com/skates/getboard6.asp?ProductID=2664 but just out of curiosity, what wakeboard seyup would you reccomend? i just wanted to stay away from that because of the cost, but id been wanting to try that to for awhile now too, so if i can find a setup, just as cheap if not cheaper that would be great

You don't really have to start up on a wakeboard... Just practice on a skate and you should be fine. Ask Pirate and maybe he can hook you up with a good Sattelyte flat or concave that would be good for your size which would be a good deal.

jerni21, www.evogear.com and www.Buywake.com (closeout section) and www.wakeboardscheap.com have some good wakeboard setups for cheap youll need at leasta 142 probably a 143/44 or bigger if you can. . . . . .and for bindings and such just make sure you get a good pair with decent support. . . . . . . as far as skates size really doesnt matter that much, but at your size it would probably be easier to go with a bigger skate. . .I think a 43 Impulse wide or a K-41

if that can help in anyway, i'm 6"4, weight around 160, and my skates are a hyperlite gate 114, but its really expensive, and a hyperlite catalyst 112 which is pretty good...
