I wish I had some money to donate. I have been seriously watching about the devestation on the news. The worst part is the scum bags that are looting and raping women. Help can't even get to the people that need it, they are trying to stop the crime that is going on. I even heard that someone committed suicide in the Superdome. I want to help out in some way. _________________ I'm the People's Champ. |

HighRida,
Thanks for your concern. We are doing fine. We only have a few small inconveniences such as temporary power outages, loss of phone communication and loss of internet access. These inconveniences are slowly getting ironed out, but for the most part, we are back to normal in the town I live in.
I wish I could say the same for our neighbors down the road. Things are only getting worse in the New Orleans area. |

Dave Barousse,
Where exactly do you live? Your city says New Orleans.. But you obvisuioly don't live there if you still have power. |

vance,
I used to be in New Orleans and didn't change my profile after we moved. I'm currently about 70 miles from New Orleans, but not for much longer....
In fact, the owners of the company I used to work for stayed in their huge data center throughout the storm to keep an eye on things. They are keeping a blog and have a live feed of downtown New Orleans rolling via a web cam.

are you leaving louisiana? or are you just moving somewhere else in the state?
again, I'm glad to hear that everything is OK, considering the circumstances and what could have gone wrong. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

E-snow he's moving out to Eugene, Oregon, just to hang out with the likes of: Pat McCarthy, El and yours truly, although he may say that he has other reasons, IE: the reason(s) he told his wife and dogs. (new job) But then again, how well would that go over? "So um... Honey, by the way, we're moving out to Oregon to become homies with Dragon88, El, and Pat McCarthy from wakeboarder.com." It just sounds strange and I'm not sure they'd go for it ya know?
For serious though, the real reason why he's moving: All the cool kids are doing it, don't lie you know you wanna. There's enough cantaloupe for the 4 of us...
Dave, really really glad to hear that all is OK on the home front. And that my Kenyans shipped out today. (More so the first reason.) electricsnow,
Yes, we are leaving Louisiana for Eugene, OR. I am not looking forward to the actual move, but living in the Northwest should be a totally new experience for us. My wife and I were both born and raised in the South and have never lived anyplace other than Louisiana.
Our move was scheduled prior to the hurricane and luckily we didn't have any damage to our house because I sold it the day after Katrina hit Louisiana. I know that is crazy, but it just worked out that way. If I would have had to deal with damaged property, it would have delayed everything even more.
DRAGON88,
All I had to do to convince my wife to move to Eugene was show her you and El's collection of carpet boarding videos. She started packing her bags after she found out you guys have banana phone access in Oregon.
I was also glad your Kenyans shipped today! We received a shipment of the wrong colors by mistake that set us back. Luckily none of our GOOD customers were affected.
In light of the subject of this topic, is there anything we can do to help Liquid and his family? Any ideas? |

liquid, I know it's just about the last thing your thinking about right now, as to everyone else in Lousiana, but If you end up making it over to Texas you've always got pulls down here.
Good luck, keep on keepin' on, and keep up the good attitude. _________________ www.dallaswakeboarding.com |
