sucked. i went out with a friend i haven't seen in two years. just me him and my jet ski. the water was butter and i had a great session. i almost landed my first BS shuv 180 but only had one foot placed on the board after the spin. tore my shin up after i kept trying but no pain no gain.
after picking up both boards we took, we turned the jet ski off for a second. after getting back on to start it up, it didn't start. the battery was shot, nothing worked. we tried everything for 15 minutes and finally decided to start looking for other people. i ran to a point and saw a boat coasting about 400 yards away, i yelled and he was just leaving without hearing us. it's about 8:45 now, just starting to get dark and we decide to swim across the lake without the jetski since it would slow us down. we can't see the ramp we parked at from where we were at but we did see another one about a mile and a half away. we started swimming from cove to cove to get as far out on land as we could to minimize the swimming.
after about 45 minutes of swimming we said we would drown if we kept on. we just said we have to stay the night. we get back on land around 10ish and find a small beach area where there wasn't any grassy knolls or woods. as soon as we get out the mosquito's hit us left and right. all we had was our boards and jackets and a half-full bottle of water. i know we had a lake in front of us but this lake is just down right nasty in 95+ degree weather. it's very shallow so when it gets hot, everything comes up from the bottom, very nasty.
we start sitting in the water to escape the skeeters but they were still biting our face. we were exhausted from skating and swimming. i finally get on land and cover my entire body with an inch of mud so i can try and sleep. it didn't work because the volume of skeeters was so bad.
the land we were one was about a 30 yard stretch so we just decided we have to pace back and fourth at a walking speed so they wouldn't bite us. we walked back and fourth for 4 hours.
hallucinating from being deprived from no sleep we thought we saw something move(a snake). we got some sticks and beat the heck out of it only to find it was a 3 inch twig. we were so tired but nothing could make us stop from walking back and fourth due to the skeeters on our tail the entire time. finally a boat passed by 75 yards in front of us, we yelled and yelled but they could not hear us due to the motor. they stopped about half way out in the lake from us. we started yelling and finally after 5 and a half hours of pacing, they responded.
upon them coming to help us, the game warden pulled right around the corner from a cove because they were searching for us too. they said there were about 5 cars of people waiting at the dock freaking out. my bro being the biggest one. he didn't call my parents yet because they would worry sick. i got on land only to be yelled at my bro(he's a year younger then me). he was so worried/pissed that he wanted to hit me. i understand but i was in no mood for a ruckus. he got in my face and i pushed him back only ready to tear into each other. he walked up to me and i thought it was about to kick off but something stopped it. we finally go home and call it a night.
yes i know we're stupid for not having a cell phone, we usually take it but for some reason we didn't this time. pretty much my only worry was having everyone that knew i was out there go insane from being thinking i was at the bottom of the lake.
my bro said he didn't really freak out until he pulled up to the lot and saw my yukon with an empty trailer in tact.
my friend and i are very lucky we didn't run into Mr. Low Shoulders(a snake) because we really would have had the odds against us then.
glad to be back. |

Frye, we left it 3 coves over from where we were beached. when the fishermen saw us, they said they can't carry all of us(small flat-bottom boat) so they will go get the jet ski and then we can get on the jet ski and drag. when they came back with the jet ski, the game wardens pulled up and pulled us and the jet ski back but the fishermen did carry our boards back to the ramp.
i haven't had time to look at the jet ski to see what the problem was but will this week. i'm thinking a short in the wiring.
on a side note, i know we have bumped heads frye but <3. |

Glad you're back.
Just curious, what kind of ski?
Not to rubb it in or anything, but I had the most kick arse weekend skatingwise. And I found a new spot. Butter 24/7. NO LIE |
