I must look like a total idiot; a old 32 yr old guy doing kickflips in his living room on his wakeskate. |

I used to wakeboard, but since trying a skate last summer I have only been on my board a few times. Wakeskating is just easier (in that any boat or PWC is fun to ride behind, board is smaller to carry to boat, no lube, etc) and it is a lot of fun.
I was never a big air guy on a wakeboard . . . and the more technical aspect of wakeskating is what I really enjoy. _________________ Kampus K39 with foam and Keen Sandals

I am just not being clear on what I mean . .
To me, much of what one does on a wakeboard is in the air. I am not a big fan of air (when I skateboarded in my youth I was into olies, kickflips, etc and never liked launch ramps). What I love about wakeskating is that there is so much to do that is not launching off a 4 foot wake 15 feet into the flats. Slides, shuvs (not that I have landed one), and all the carving on and off the wake. Everything is smaller (movements, motions) so I called it more technical.
Probably not the correct term. _________________ Kampus K39 with foam and Keen Sandals

last summer me and my cuz went wakeboarding at his g/f's place and i brought my skate. My cuz's g/f had a bunch of ladies up at her cottage for the weekend so we all filled in the boat and went out to ride. When my cuz was riding he was going big and everyone was all wowed and stuff and then when i went skating nobody was impressed with what i was doing and i landed a shuv for the time too.
i find people would rather see you go big then watch wakeskating. i stll strap from time to time but prefer to skate any day! |

IndySkate, I don't think age really matters. I'm 33 and I feel great out on my skate. I think it's all a state of mind. _________________ pretending doesn't work |
