The cassette board was the only example I could use because they're the only ones that have anything that could simulate trucks or wheels. Like I said, I debate whether or not THAT would be a manual because what are the fins replacing-trucks or wheels?

Don't take it so personal. I just disagree with you and I think you (among others) ignore technicalities that make a trick what it is. Also, note that I never told YOU to stop riding your gate, and I never told anyone to buy a cassette.

Also, I couldn't quite read your first sentence, but I did catch the sarcasm.

You really can't do a manual on a wakeskate, unless somehow you find a way to balance on something like the 4trac fins. Manuals are done by riding on one's wheels--that's it. With that said, if you're balancing on your tail I'd call it a tail press (the opposite of a nose press). Snowboarders never tried to poach manuals because they new they couldn't do them (and I don't think I've heard of one in wakeboarding either). THere are technicalities that make a trick what it is, so don't try to bastardize these tricks because of that.

Any other questions? I'm down...

how can there be the same technicalities to a trick that doesnt even have the same board equipment. theres no trucks or wheels on a wakeskate so how can the technicalities even apply. if ur ridin on your back kicktail and the rest of your board is out of the water it is a manual. and bastardizing tricks what r u talkin about?

Basically what you just did-calling a trick what it isn't. And this one isn't even that technical; if you're not riding on something besides your tail, it's not a manual. Another example is the quasi-bluntslide on that gate, but I've said enough about that in numerous other posts.

I'm officially signing off of this topic. I think I've said my piece.

all im sayin is i dont think a wakeskate manual should have the same requirements as a skateboard manual because the boards arent even based on the same ideas or shapes. there are no trucks or wheels on a wakeskate so why eliminate that trick as a possibility???

yea manuals are definately not possible, it would just be considered lifting your front foot up or just releaving pressure on your front foot. Pretty pointless trick. And like what electricsnow said before, its calling it something what it isn't which i was saying before about greg's impossible. (not trying to start anything up again)

It's really a start for everyhting to build on...nothing will be perfect right away..i think the idea of the gate is cool and it will evolve over time.

Just saw the gate for the first time yesterday... it's really short and narrow and I can't imagine the tail/nose lasting very long. Doesn't look very appealling, I'm sticking with cassette.

i'm not rying to get in some dumb @$$ argument here but what you are trying to say is that a manual will never be possible on a wakeskate just because you dont have trucks or wheels. this is wakeskating not skateboarding. just because you dont have anything to balance on doesnt mean it cant be a manual.i have ridden a gate and you cant just lean back it does take balance to actually keep it up in a manual. you are trying to compare wakeskating to skateboarding when they are 2 completely different sports.[/b]

this is just another typical anti-hyperlite web argument. half of you people have never even ridden a gate, so how could you possibly know if its a gimmick or not. it seems to me that the only people who have ridden one are the ones saying they love it. I myself am not a big Hyper-anything fan and used to ride a cassette until some1 at owc let me ride theres. DONT BASH IT TIL YOU RIDE IT
