Some of you may have seen on other post about Cramm, well this is it. Cramm and I ride together every weekend and he just got his new 22Ve from Texas Tige. He really just got into wakeskate hardcore with in the past four months. We were out at Texas Round Up riding when he was starting to stick his wake 2 wakes on the skate consistently...He took the last three bigger and bigger, with his face just glowing after each one he stuck...then a turn for the worst, he came off the wake and when he landed his front foot was on and back foot was off. Which caused him to roll into his front leg (left)...he broke his femur in three places. Had to be rushed to the hospital and now has a rod in his leg...
Get well soon my friend...

i hope the best comes of this! i remember when i used to race mx, femurs were real common.
horible and extremly painful, but ussually the rod goes in and things go pretty smooth after that. |

seems every time i start hitting my w2w's, that happens. can't believe i havent torn my acl, or dislocated my hip. after hearing this, i'm boycotting w2w. i already have a ti rod in my leg and 3 screws from a horrific snowboard crash(tib-fib compound fracture). i know alot of riders will argue that you just have to be dialed, and it seperates the men from the boys. whatever. i'm sticking to flip tricks and rails.
that's my word.
tell your boy to hang in there.
he will be 100% in no time. |

That's really rare to snap your femur from a crash like that, let alone in three places. Usually the ligaments go to save a bone break, ouch!! That sucks a lot. Hope your boy gets well. _________________ www.NeustonBoards.com

Some of these wake to wake injuries are kind of freakish. Even byerly's...I was talking to someone else, who's extremely talented when it comes to wake to wake. he said he's fallen like that a number of times (all splits like) and he hasn't torn his knee apart.
The one foot on, one foot off can be a deadly maneuver. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

ACE, that looks just like my x-ray Spiral fracture maybe, I did the same thing on a w2w indy shuv. Tell your bud to keep his head up and to start his therapy as soon as he can. Weight bearing enhances bone growth, so the more he walks on it, the quicker it will heal; and tell him to DO YOUR THERAPY, and I bet he'll be riding by the end of summer. Let me guess, he was riding a hype. God speed! _________________ dbanana wrote:

I don't know. If you continue to stretch over time, it can help your flexibility (I had to do that for awhile and my flexibility did improve). but as far as just stretching before an activity is concerned...I heard that it may not be as beneficial as everyone thought, but I can't even remember why anymore.
Anyway, i still like to be warmed up before I do stuff like that, so I'd still stretch. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |
