i think it should but the only problem with wakeskating is that not everybody will be awed at it like wakeboarding where people just say wow he is going high thats cool wakeskating is an art form that must be appreciated that a lot of people can't. |

freerider4 has an excelent point people in those big comps they just saw skateboarding and motocross so they want to see people going big, they wont get much of that from wakeskating. So they see backrolls and kickflips i think most of the kids would prefer a backrolls, because they go big and fly so they dont think like us. |

i would do something with a seadoo or a winch up close so people realise it is not wakeboarding it is a new thing of its own. if you used a winch and put it right up in the middle of all the ramps and moto x stuff people would actualy watch it too. but if it is like 20 miles from the actual event site and the water is sh*tty and no one realises what it is then i dont think it would help the sport at all. _________________ P.S.... this is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated |

I think he means greg do an impossible while some one tantrums over him. Probably be pretty hard because I dont think greg can ollie impossible. And doing it directly behind the boat would be pretty hard. _________________ Llamas are better then Alpacas

i don't think wakeskating should be handled like wakeboarding at all. Similar to what gvw said, I think they should build just one really nice step down rail, like the drop offs they are doing in sfumato. Just have basically the winch pulling the riders and they basically do a best trick type of thing and get like 3 or 5 chances to hit it. That way people could watch the event up close and see how similar wakeskating is to skateboarding and how intricate the tricks are. It would give the event much more of a street skating type feel which i think would be much more enjoyable to watch than seeing some guy do little shuvits 500 feet away. Just my opinion... |

they should make a street course with the winch. have a lil stretch of water with lots of rails n shizzle. but that would probably be "a step in the wrong direction" but i think itd be kool. _________________ Goodwood, Globe

I totally agree with 484rider, and I don't think its "a step in the wrong direction".... It would be dope with a "street course" as long it's as far away from wakeboarding as possible. Using the winch would be a great idea, making it totally different from wakeboarding with all their gymnastic moves... _________________ _____________________________

wakesk8r9610, of right. Well anyway, compared to a backflip, an impossible is nothing. People want to see big air. Why do you think freestyle skateboarding "died"? Because vert and street came and it was more fun to watch. People would rather see a Parks do his 360 Double roll under a guy doing a back flip then Gregs impossible (not downing your impossible greg).
Rob, street skating is popular because they do stair sets. They also have alot more flip tricks then wakeskaters. How many people can varial flip on a wakeskate as opposed to a skateboard? Not many. THey have flip tricks in and out. Making it look better. Only a hand full of wakeskaters can flip in/out.(actually I dont think any one can flip out) _________________ Llamas are better then Alpacas

Who really cares who can flip on or off... Wakeskating is a new sport to the general public, you have to start somewhere... I think that with close camera angles, most viewers would understand how difficult some tricks really are... I think many would be impressed just seeing a kickflip on the water. (as I was when I first saw it... not to mention the rails...) And stair sets ARE impossible on a wakeskate, no bother discussin' it.. . _________________ _____________________________
