|

I just got word from some friends that their shop is holding a contest in northern california the weekend of the 25th. From what i gathered, it's gonna be another huge pool/rail/pool setup with most of the industry attending. Just curious if anyone has heard anything about it, because i only got that much out of him due to shiznackle cell phone service. If anyone hears anything or decides they're going, let me know.

There is one such event in So Cal on the weekend of the 25th. I'm sure it will be big. Chances are it will be mainly wakeboarders though. _________________ .:Wake UP Films:.

here's some more info...sound like if you guys have some free time this one might be worth checking out. doesnt sound very skate-friendly, though.
rider list includes harf, watson, sharpe, ricky g, trevor hansen, jimmy wolf, silas thurman, colin wright, schwenne, cook, ennen and bonifay. more people will be trying to qualify on thursday the 24th. the comp is sunday march 26th. ive been told there's gonna be 300 feet worth of rails and pools. there's some wall rides and some rails are 10 feet above cement. judging is based on the cleanest, sickest line of tricks.
danny- check your PMs. _________________ facebook.com/TheLiquidPlayground

that's it, exactly. visalia. haha yeah not very northern califrnia. as for the rails... i heard exactly the same, a lot and a good setup, nothing but complements. I'm sure if enough wakeskaters show up for qualifying (if and when they have it) we can increas the numbers. i'll ask the people putting it on tomorrow what the situation is. if anyone goes, please let me know about hotels & rates you come across. I'll do the same.

so i saw pictures of the course today and all i can say is wow. it's by far the longest winch contest ever. They are going to have a wakeskate class, but some of the rails are pretty crazy. The one that stuck out the most was the 15ft land gap with a launch ramp or a rail on the side as your 2 options to get to the second half of the course. I'm pretty sure i heard there was somewhere around 5k in prize money. wakeskate was 1k for 1st and 500 for 2nd & wakeboard with a top 3 & larger amounts. Not 100% sure on those figures though. It's in the back lot of Elco (sp?) Marine, in Visalia. Friday is qualifying, saturday they're having a huge sale, and then sunday is the contest. definately not one to miss...

nope, not since last sunday. & this sunday it's supposed to be raining. But If it's not too windy i might try to go even if it is raining & throw the camera in the underwater case. we did film at marine stadium wednesday, but unfortunately didn't get a chance to ride b/c filming was a priority.

i was told that pretty much anyone can enter, you just have to make it through qualifying. all of the guys listed are already automatically qualified, so from what i gathered, everyone else has to try and qualify on friday. i brought up the thursday thing & they said friday. watersports warehouse is booking us our room & they're only going from fri to sun, so i donno what the deal is. just out of curiousity, howd you come across that flier? chad (the dude putting it on) said he didn't have them done yesterday, crazy...
