This is the basic rail I made recently...I used hardwood for the A-frame legs and old bits of timber for the supports. I bolted two bits of PVC on to a wooden base, which sits on the A-frame legs. It's way too short but now I know how to make a bigger jib that's solid as a rock! We basically sat it in shallow water with a sandy base.

Yeah, it is way too short...but the design is sweet so I'll just adjust it and make it bigger. The legs were hardwood which is really heavy so it sat on the bottom perfectly!!

I live Northern Beaches, Sydney. The only thing I bought was the hardwood for the legs. It cost $20-$30. A mate got me the PVC for free(you can normally find some lying around somewhere). Good luck with it!!
