haha, shouldnt you know what your going to sell before you take out a lease? Anyways with that aside, sell some satalytes, integrity, oaks, lf (to keep you afloat). Get some wakeboards to, see if u can sell thirds as well as first quality boards because thirds are always up to 200 bucks cheaper for the consumer, and really cheap for you to buy, Plus the difference between a third and first is usualy something minimal and cosmetic, they will be alot easier to sell. For life jackets and other paraphenalia jet pilot and straighline make nice stuff. DO NOT SELL TUBES (unless they are good for filming behind ). For clothing and such there are alot of good brands out there, for things like shorts its usaly best to stick with companies that have their shizzle together and make stuff true to size with lots of options (ie size 30,31,32,33,34 ect.. not just 30,32,34) Billabong and Quicksilver have this down properly, Hurley us also another good choice as they have alot of nice shorts that run a little cheaper. T shirt and hoody wise ect, there are alot of good brands out there, especially brands that are started up by individual artists who to limited screen prints of their artwork. Not only will this give your store some originality, you can have some of the radest stuff out. But have fun with it man, if your going to do it, hit it hard. _________________ oh great now i have ink all over the screen |

| you should have a tv playing board sport videos at all times. and maybe a mini ramp so people can test out skate boards. and then also a pool with a rail in it and winch so people can test out wakeskates and wakeboards there. |

Catalyst, THANKS man, I do know what i want, But more importantly I know that the first step to a succesful skate shop is making everyone feel like there apart of something. And not just being a shop that sells clothes.
vance, yes what ????? I hope you dont think your getting anything free |

PIRATE, no prob man, my sister works in clothing shop around here that is run by a family friend so i get to hear all of their complaints about how certain companies construct their stuff. They have had alot of complaints with companies not making things true to their size, like ambigous for example, their stuff is usualy really awkward. The 3rd wakeboards and stuff tho ive seen being sold at some shops in washington mostly as they are the nearest shops to to hyperlite, cwb headquarters ect. But i wont buy anything but a third now in a wakeboard, its not everyday you can buy a brand new pro wakeboard for 250 that rides the same as a brand new one. If u ever want to check out some clothing brands that are completley unique (keep your demographic in mind because some people only like to think they are unique) you can check out some sites like www.hypebeast.com, in some parts of their forum these companies advertise their stuff and some of it is minboggeling, truly inspired peices of work, not just a label. You will find some stuff in their to that is like a bajillion dollars, just keep it mind i guess. If u ever have any questions about some stuff like this just shoot me a pm or whatever, i dont run a shop or anything, but i pay close attention to the shops i do go into and have a good idea now of what works and what doesnt. Oh yeah, are you planning on selling skateboards and stuff to, or just like a wake store? _________________ oh great now i have ink all over the screen |

| the mini ramp idea is cool but could run you broke with all the liabilities, if you do that you should definately be strict about who u allow to skate it. rails and ramps whould be a cool thing to sell though. thats really cool that your getting your own shop. you'll probably get some skaters hooked on wakeskating too, whenever i put a wakeskate vid on the tv in the skateshop where i work the kids start askin what it is and if its hard and next thing you know they all want to by wakeskates. good luck with your shop. |

oh haha ok, three words for you then, nike sb account, as disguisting as nike is as a corporation i can garauntee you will sell out of every nike sb shoe you stock as long as you advertise release dates on your sight. People will literaly be lining up outside your shop when certain shoes release, as crazy as it sounds, its 100% true. other than that tho, nice original skate stuff would be the whole girl, chocolate, diamond, 4 star thing. Volcom, rvca, lrg, ect is always good to... _________________ oh great now i have ink all over the screen |

PIRATE, good luck with the shop, I think soft goods for the underground roc companies would be popular. Maybe stock a grinch. _________________ dbanana wrote:

Make you're store is really chill. Make kids who shop there wanna hang out there. Near the back of the store, have some comfy couches, and a TV with videos constantly playing. Out of all the skate shops I've been to, my favorite has been Rider's Village (www.ridersvillage.com). It's really sick for a number of reasons:
- Really cool staff, who know what they are talking about
- Great product, all major brands and some of the smaller stylish ones too.
- Kickass looking shop, shizzle everywhere but organised and "warm" feeling i can't really describe.
- Bigass comfy leather couch in the back with a bigscreen TV playing snowboard and skate movies nonstop
hope this helps, or something. _________________ www.sattelyte.com
