Well, after reading many posts about the Pro Tour recently, it has got me thinking. Why is everyone so excited about the 1st Pro Wakeboard Tour stop now...(other than the fact that it is in ATL- my hometown Wink ?) It is only January and all of you guys are making plans about where to stay, which stops you are going to make it to, who is carpooling with who, etc. This comes as a polar opposite to me because it seems like most of you guys have been anti-pro tour; stating reasons such as wakeskating seemingly being a sideshow to wakeboarding. Anyway, it just seems like now you "ROC" core kids are all about spending 150 bucks to ride for two passes or until you fall 3 times. (not saying that is bad at all, just different from the opinions I have gathered in the past)

So my question is whats up with the change of heart?

Personally I can't wait for the INT tournaments to start up - Wakeboarding, wakeskating, slalom, and kneeboarding; all at one venue - a veritable cornucopia of wet and wild fun.

I've always loved going to events ... Events to me are more about going and hanging out with people who have the same love of the sport that I do ... I've went to events and rode like crap and took last place, I've got upset and disapointed over results but really when I look at the big picture its really not about winning ... there is more to contests that ... I dont know why there is so much negativity towards contests/pwt ... if you do bad, get over it, come back to the next stop with a different attitude and just go and ride ...

This past year ... I had the worst view of contests that you can have ... I went into events thinking that ok this guy will be there, I HAVE to beat him to win and thats all I was thinking when I got on the water ... I have re-done my view on events and am ready for the 06 season...

coming down to Atlanta is going to be a really big cost for me ... and I probably wont even make it past first round... but thats not the point, I just want to come down, try my best, be around people who love wakeskating and meet all the ws.com people like nick, lemons and others...

my 2 cents....

Brandon Lee, its not you, its the site.

i went to orlando last year, and more or less sucked. i'd like to go to atlanta this year, if for no other reason than to just prove to myself that i can qualify against riders that ive spent the last couple years looking up to.

Brandon Lee, I totally agree with you and that has alot to do with why im not taking it as seriouse as I was. I think atlanta is cool because Everyone can ride and its super fun just to go out and ride with all the dudes that you dont get to ride with all year.

Also I have a Deal with some of my sponsors that require me to be at the first stop and at least 2 other "pro" televised events. I do agree about the whole ROC thing and me and my friend were talking about this very thing the other day. I beleive my exact words were "I cant really be like anti everything and then go and ride the tour "

Im going to support the comps like hippodome more and more cuase those are the true WAKESKATE comps. And hopefully me and Engen can put on our own comp this year.

nowBrandon Lee, start making fun of people, it just doesn't seem right when your sincere. Laughing

For me, it's another chance to take a road trip somewhere to go ride, meet up with a bunch of wakeskaters (there's 2 here now) and have a shot at getting a little exposure if I do good.

And of course the MAIN reason I'm going, is because I have to impress Bill Paxton.
