I was just listening to this song, I thought it is kind of symbolic of your situation, It gives off a warm mood when listening to it. the lyrics may seem a little emo but they are still good.
H.I.M. - Close to the Flame
The kiss sweetest
And touch so warm
The smile kindest
In this world so cold and strong
So close to the flame
Burning brightly
It won't fade away
And leave us lonely
The arms safest
And words all good
The faith deepest
In this world so cold and cruel
So close to the flame
Burning brightly
It won't fade away
And leave us lonely
You have E-VILL WAKE's Prayers Nick.

Mr. Taylor was probably one of the nicest guys i've met in my entire life. He was damn proud of you Nick, and I feel honored to have talked to him. My heart goes out to you and your family, he will be missed by all.

Nick, I'm truly sorry to hear about you and your family's loss. I can't imagine how hard it must be to lose a parent. I'm 22 years old and I don't even want to think about losing my father. I suppose I can partially relate to your experience because I have lost a grandparent to whom I was very close. What kept me positive about the situation was that I could take solace in the fact that I took advantage of the time I had with my grandmother. We were close friends and we shared many good times together. I spent a lot of one on one time with my grandmother, while others in my family did not. I made use of the time that I had with her. That doesn't necessarilly make things easier, but it's comforting to know that you can look back to the past and see awesome memories rather than "could have beens".
I don't know you or your father but it's quite obvious that he was a great guy to be around and that you two were close friends. My only advice to you is to remember the many good times and take comfort in knowing that you took advantage of the time you had with him. You're in my thoughts and prayers...

Wow... I am sorry man... I know your dad is in a better place. He seemed like one to share his stoke with everyone else, and I see that same trait in you, Nick. His passing will not go unnoticed, and you will carry on that positive influence, not limited to just wakeskating.

I'm so sorry for your loss Nick. This comes as a huge shock and leaves me at a loss for words. Your dad seemed like one heck of a guy. The little bit of time he spent on this board only leaves me to imagine how great of a person he really was. He will never be forgotten and may he rest in peace.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Condolences. Keep your head up and the best way to honor him is to use the things he taught you and to become the man he raised you to be. That is the greatest tribute a son can give their father.

nick, as everyone else im here for you....ill never forget the first time i met you and your dad, like 6am at odub and me him you ben and ryan doin dane cook brian reagan and mitch hedburg for like 30 mins, and i told you then i thought he was so cool, ill never fforget him and i know you wont either. i lost my father too and i know how you feel so im completely here for you.
seein the pictures from that day and readin the pms we had did nothing but make me smile. but know this, he will never leave you, from now on for the rest of your life you will feel a new prescence with you, its unexplainable, always there, and amazing. and i know for a fact him and my dad are up there right now together being the crazy guys they were.
once again the family you have here is all here for you, we all care about you and know what an amazing guy your dad was and will do anything and everything for you.
"Didn't know you were a quarterback. Cool. In the off season I'll be your receiver. Got good hands, still good patterns, & can still throw the deep accurate one. Loads of luck man. I saw a human pyramid...it was totally u.necessary."
that just shows you what kind of guy he was....always up for anything and everything.....and always throwin in mitch hedburg
