im not gonna be doing alot of wake to wake stuff and i had a catalyst before and hated it because it was to light and was wondering if the byerly was like that

impulse i have it and like it alot.. good weight to it, im with you on the 'composite boards are too light bandwagon'

depends on what year.. the 05's are heavy (8lbs at that) ... I've heard good things about the byerly

its hard to compair these sticks because there totally different in everyway... If you werent diggin the compressed molded skates then maybe check out the impulse...

Its a sick skate, has good pop and a great overall shape that I love...

parky, thanks but yeah i had a 04 catalyst....i have a flat wood and dont feel like i get good pop out of it..does the concave have alot better pop compared to the flat

Jesse, my only local boardshop doesnt have them in yet and wont let me demo them...im buying them from wakeside.com cause i have 210 reward points

They dont do demos? Man, thats not cool at all. Also, wood concaves have way more to offer than flat wood.

Jesse, yeah i have heard that but have never ridden a concave...does the wood concaves delaminate fast?

lopezlocal, I rode the impulse at a demo last summer and it's actually a really nice wakeskate. I liked the shape of the concave and the longer kicktails (which suit my foot placement and style of riding). one thing that's different about the impulse is that there's a subtle concave shaped into the base, which helped with pop. I've said this before, but I was really impressed because I had thought that wooden wakeskate design had kind of peaked out.

I don't know anything about current hyperlite skates and likely never will. Have fun on your next wakeskate, whatever it ends up being...

but i actually like the new byerly.

but from wakeside there shipping of the byerlys isent doing well right now because they havent got them in or somthing.

ive ridden both, and i just dont like the hyperlite skates. ive been on an 03 and an 05, and i just didnt completely feel right on either. well, that and i dont like foam (not that it matters since the 06's can come in grip).

i rode the impulse shape again today after not riding one in awhile and i remembered how much i love the board. love the weight. love the pop. just not a huge fan of foam. have i mentioned that yet? haha

i have an 06 39 impusle i love it soo much best shape the only problem is all the graphics just chip off Crying or Very sad
