this is one crappy week for pro wakeskaters,
Danny Hampson came down with mononuklioma this past week.
A disease where ur liver swells up due to infection or sum thing to that effect, he might be out of wakeskating for sum time but im really not sure how bad this disease is,and im really hoping he has a full recovery soon Sad

hes not in any sever pain he just cant be active and he uses alot of energy fast so even walking i guess is a challenge for him Sad

I can't take much more bad news, from Cassette's problems, to Nick's dad (R.I.P. JT), and now this. It's one shitstorm after another.

this morning (1-19-06) a wakeboarder from texas, and a regular at all of our texas ski ranch contests, named James Carroll died in a car accident. he was in his late teens.

its been a bad month for members of the entire "wake" community. Sad

R.I.P. all of our fallen brothers, you are lost, but never forgotten.

next year i say we skip the month of january entirely. its too fiznackling cold to ride in most places (except for fiznackling florida). i dont know how it would work, maybe some sort of advanced hibernation technique but i think it would be worth it.

MY prayers go out to all these familes and danny, and everyone in troubled times. This monokileoma must be rare or somthing, i cant even find out what it is on google. ill ask my microbiology teacher on monday.

well he said it was "mono" i kinda took a guess on the end, i just know its a swollen liver infection. it could be mononuclioss or monokilleoma..

cassette315, maybe it's mononucleosis (sp). Everything else you're mentioning sounds like it (specifically, getting tired easily). My mom's a nurse and I asked her if the word "monokilleoma" exists and she said if anything, it sounded like cancer (the suffix "-oma" would stand for cancer).

So anyway, mono (the first one) is a spleen infection, but it's possible that your liver could get tender. So that's my guess. And if all of this is true, I wish danny him well on his road to recovery.

mono is no big deal.... makes you tired for a while... i had it in jr high.. missed 2 weeks of school.. was back to normal shortly there after..
