| I'm new to skating - ride a 112 Catalyst. Don't really know anyone else who skates so i have to kinda learn new stuff on my own. Should I pick up an instructional video like SNAP? What kinda tricks should i try to learn first? Suggestions? |

i was do 3 flips my second week of skatin
On the wwakeskating.com homepage, on the left side, there is a trick tip list with instructionals. Also There is a trick tip forum. Snap however is insanely good, it helped me soooo much. _________________ They call me Dr. Jones

luke813, Snap is a great video... I used it alot in the beginning, haven't seen anything of the new Book Series but all good reviews Ive heard...
also check out there are many video instructionals on this site from dave, myself, lemons, some dude with dreds and others...
Not only that but we have a trick tip section were most come to ask about a trick they want to get under there belt...
and dont expect to be landing shuvits your first time out either... dont get frustrated sometimes wakeskating for the first time can be hard!!!
have fun |

| yea all great advice! There is also some off the water things you can do to progress.... What helped me a shizzle load, seriously i learnt sooo many tricks by this. I got a my old snow skate out, just the plastic snow skate. And find a smooth slick service and just choose some tricks you want to learn and just go out and just do um like 1000 times to get muscle memory... and this is good cause i never had a tramp i could use... and 2nd find a trampoline and skate it up.... and welcome to the site and good luck!!! |

| EvanPark, i landed a shuv 4th try on my first day out. so its not out of the question. i say, better to have high expectations. it makes you push yourself that much more |

randomhero691, I agree that it might help push yourself but having expectations isn't going to be the thing that gets you that first w2w or shuvit... its going to be practise and skill that gets you there...
I've seen people who thought they could be landing the hard stuff first day out and they couldn't... so they got all mad and didnt want to do it anymore....
