I doubt it, Patents are $$$$$$$$$ and take a long time to go through. I'd be suprised if they got it copyrighted. Also the Bi-level idea has been around for awhile with snowskates, so I'm not sure if he really could...

Just my thoughts...

I could be wrong (probably am), but I thought Thomas had a patent on the brackets or whatever. So the method of his bi-level is patented, not the actual bi-level idea in itself.

slder: that makes no sense at all. lol

that sounds like when burton tried to patent the three hole mounting setup for bindings on there snowboards instead of four holes. Its like OK " everybody else, you can't use three holes you HAVE to use four" .........sounds kind of stupid when you say it. I believe it was mike olsen from lib tech that tells that story and laughs about it. people go crazy about patents.

Everybody on this site calls thomas a trend setter......... but then when some one else tries to duplicate the trend and retail it it changes to " OMG what a money hungry as$h0le!!!"

i don't understand why no company is doing a bilevel that has a wood bottom and composite top...that seems to be the answer...with such extreme concave and kicktails on the top deck, wood is not the best material to work with....and also for those times when the deck nosedives

The pictures I saw of it sound like what Scott said. I wouldn't really call it a bi-level, the middle is really one piece. But I guess it works like one.
