at some time greg van wagnen (sp?) almost pulled it, maybe he did now.
Also, peeps are saying that reed hansen is pulling those, as well as inward heels
but you can be sure that there are unknown rippers around the world pullin' those aswell hehe _________________

I don't agree jesse, There's loads of shizzle out there that's been stuck and very few people know about it. You gotta remember the members of this site probably only make up 25-30% of all wakeskaters (if that). Not everyone's about telling people, a lot do it for themselves. That's what's so good about the sport - the lack of glory hunting.

Iamjesse, just look at a friend of mine here... He is a decent skater and loves throwing crazy things w2w. He landed a no grab bs shuv, 2 times. And he tried some bare foot on a griped lemons... And by accident he even landed a vflip w2w barefoot and sliped on the landing. So yeah, you never know what some peeps could be landing ^^
but yeah heels are crazy hehe. Can't wait to see reed hansen in alla prima! _________________

Im sure sleu will be on here telling me that gvw really landed it and im retarded but whatever. |

sim, i bet we make up way more than that.
why wouldnt someone claim they were the first to land something, its not about the glory but about ripping it up and giving inspiration, this isnt football, we dont keep secrets and shouldnt |

You know, it's nice to know when these things go down. But it's also really nice to be surprised. I remember the first time I saw danny hampson in sfumato, and I had no idea that he had back to back flips (wake to wake and then in the flats) frontside flips, and varial flips. it was seriously baffling...and add his metrowest kickflip attempt to that as well.
So I'd say that it works both ways. And don't doubt for a minute that tricks are being thrown down that we don't know about. if cassette and the media at large were able to keep so much of sfumato a secret...who knows what's going on.
And seriously, with the examples that were given in this thread, it's seriously hard to claim "first" anything in wakeskating anymore. And as an example, for all anyone knows, wake to wake no grab shoves may have successfully gone down once or twice in the mid 90's...
Anyway, the promise wakeskating holds is really inspiring. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

i can do them on my trampoline but not on the water(heel flips that is). Its much different when you bring the "pull" into it.
I landed a w2w bs shove more than a year ago but no vid. Landing it took my skating and confidence to a new level. we were riding at 50 feet behind a good size boat too. _________________ Never, never, never, never give up

I have video of Josh steel landed a huge w2w shuv and he didnt even have to grab... and he does um all the time know, he landed one at an int demo a month ago, and the only reason he went out and tried it cause he saw reed do it in a mag, if he wouldnt have he wouldnt have even thought to tried it... i am sure once it is for sure that you can hf. on a skate every one will go and try um and more and more people will start landing them... its progression of the sport... thats why i think people should let poeple know and not hide tricks.... |

Or, people can open their minds and let their own creativity and desire for progression dictate their path on a wakeskate...
Seriously, I can't even stand it when someone says, "What trick should I learn next?" Because riding is a personal journey and a means of expression, so it's like, "Well, what do YOU want to learn?" _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |
