Just got the new alliance and there is an ad on page 97 for Oak Wakeskates.

Heres what it says:

"Here's the deal...The deal is that you already know the deal. You're not fooled by hype. You're not hypnotized by shiny doo dads and polytechnohyperspacecomposite jibber jabber. You want wakeskates made by wakeskaters. Your heart is in this and you'll be glad to know ours is too. We are artists, musicians, and riders. Our interests and passions are concentrated into our decks, soft goods, and media. We are young and hungry and it's feeding time. This is only the beginning. Respect The Cow."

"Marine glued and sealed. Super tough Canadian Maple."

"Dropping in '05"

"See us at surf expo booth #751"

The ad shows 4 skates. A 42" flat, and a 40", 41", 42" sym. concave. All have some nice colorful graphics. I particularly like the 40" one.

Any body know anything about them?

Oh, and heres their website. (watch out, its tricky)

I talked to Mike T a few times this week. They are really trying to get their name out to the wakeskaitng world. They will have a booth at Expo with their skates on display, so hopefully we'll get to check them out. I'm looking forward to seeing them.

They are a company based out of NC. I saw the prototype 43 concave a few weeks ago. Looks solid, very similar shape to a Cassette, but not exact. It is definitely a ROC.

dude what i ment is if they are truly wakeskaters...and have made a purely wakeskating company, which makes wakeskates and not clothing or anything as such....shouldnt they have some photos that have some sort of team rider which can get some photos of big shoves or something...other then boardslides...and half a$$ frontsides?....just wasnt my style....i taught my 5 year old next door neighbor to get up and surface spin and boardslide all in one day...have pictures that sort of resemble OAKs photo gallery? i dont know? im just saying....

What does it matter what they are doing in the pics, that is part of the beauty of this sport, freedom to ride it how you want. And if it does make a difference to you, how about the pic of the W2W indy shuv that is shown, or the grabbed W2W 180. These are just pics of a fun afternoon out, not a commercial photo shoot. Take a pill, try to show some love for a start up company that is trying to make a great product.
