alright i have a problem and i need some input to help me out

it all started when i went to my friend daves house to pick up my skate, shoes, vest, wakeboard because this is where i ride and since the boat is there we all leave our stuff there under his porch, but the boat broke so we didnt ride there for two weeks. now when i got my stuff dave asked me about my friend jons wakeboard, which was sitting under the house as well, so trying to do jon a favor i took his board to give to him, beings how i see him a few times a week and i am the only one who drives in the group. Now, all that stuff remained in my truck for a few days. One night i had to go help my friend get his car out of a ditch so we brought shovels and wood with us. When we got to his car two of my friends took the shovel and wood out and left my tailgate down. i was aware they left it down. Later on i had to take this girl home because she was past her curfew so i left not knowing the tailgate was down and didnt discover this until a few hours later.
When i realized it was down all of my stuff and my friends wakeboard was gone. at that time i drove around for over an hour searching for any of the stuff. all i found was wood that had fallen out. so someone picked up my stuff.
I explained this story and sincerly apolgized to my friend and his older brother who share the wakeboard and now they want me to buy them a new one now and is threatning to "take the money back out on you". But heres the catch, i used to work with the older brother at the shop i work at now and he did not pay for the board. He demoed it and never returned it. So i dont think its fair to make me buy a brand new 400 set-up for this mishap that included a stolen board.
So i'm not really sure what to do...any suggestions?

if you still work at the shop can't you just do the same thing, but give them the board?

You should definatly have to get the guy a new board, but just dont hand him the cash for it. Try shopping around and getting one for cheap, or just do what he did and steal it. But regardless of whether or not he stole the board the dude is still out a board.

haggard7, TELL your friend he had it coming and to get over it, personally i think instead of a new board you should buy him a plane ticket out to where i live so i can kick his monkey a$$ for stealing a board.

Tell him i hope his life is cursed with rough water and tubers driving in circles for ever and ever.....

i definetly agree that you shouldnt steal boards, however he had a board and now he doesnt. it doesnt really matter how he originally aquired it. if someone gave you something for free would someone else be able to misplace it and not care just because you didnt pay for it? that sucks but maybe you can compromise and buy something used.

you should try to replace his lost board. Its not his fault that he is now boardless, but try to work out a deal with him where maybe you guys split the cost of a new board.

you could always kick him in the ballz and say "serves you right, get a wakeskate dĄck-head."

and if hes not happy w/ that tell him that you wont buy him a wakeboard, but youll get him a wakeskate.

WHAT IF it were your guys board that he stole, then his friend lost them, do you think he should get another "free" board?

what about the guy he jacked it from in the first place? did he get a new free board? No So why would you let this fagot get away with that?

n8t3d0gg, i totally agree, but haggard7, have u ever thought about turning this around on them and telling the shop they stole it from about how they stole it (if you already haven't) and getting the heat off of yourself, besides, it's not your fault your friends left your tailgate open. If all else fails, have a garage sale.

I didn't realize he stole it when i first posted...

but since he did steal it tell him he has to choices 1)forget about it and move on or 2)be a di.ck to you and then have to deal with the shop because you "accidentally" let them know he stole a board

PIRATE thats funny.

Haggard7 you should have had one of those gnarly airgates and you wouldnt have this problem. .... but i wouldnt tell on him thats kind of weak. He should not have left his 400$ junk a$$ wakeboard in your rig for two weeks. bottom line.
