I Posted this on a topic, but i decided to make my own thread about it

I just ordered my K39 but has anyone ridden Kampus's "Rubberized Grip"? i have been thinking about trying some of that stuff out, it "has the griptape feel but without the abrasion." sounds like a good idea to me.

Also, has anyone tried the kicktail add ons? I was thinking about making my own, i mean you'd think it would be kind of easy, to just cut out some wedges of wood or foam or something. Ever been tried?

the rubberized grip is pretty cool, but it wears out faster than normal grip and Ironically it can still "burn" you, just not near as bad, as far as the kick kits? they are not hat impressive I think you should try and make your own, and sculpt them a little mor ethan the Kampus ones, I would dish them more so they are shaped like the concave on an older cassette 3-D or 4-Trac, and I wouls make them longer and less steep, just my coppoers on the topic

kento911, that's kind of what i was thinking about the kicktail kits. If i were to make my own i would make them longer and higher, just bigger.

I would add more contour too, the Kampus ones are just a straight wedge of foam

Slapdown, I've got some rubberized grip b/c Dave didn't realize that they were in the box when he sent it to me (he didn't even know that he had it, thanks Dave!). I haven't put it on yet, b/c I can't ride this summer b/c I got an internship in fiznackling Connecticut. Next summer I'm going to try and move to the West Palm testing facility, and maybe I'll get to ride for more than 1 week.

senorbueno, would you be willing to sell the rubberized grip? I haven't been able to find it anywhere out here or on the internet. but i'd be willing to pay a pretty penny for some of that stuff.

Slapdown, I don't know why you would want to pay so much, griptape burns aren't that bad that you should be willing to go out of your way to find an alternative IMO.

PIRATE, I know that foam absorbs pop, that's why if i make my own, i will probably make them out of wood.

and senorbueno, I never really said how much i would pay. probly like $7 tops. but i just kind of want to feel the stuff, i might not even use it.

Slapdown, haha, well considering Kampus was selling it for 20 bucks, and you said you would be willing to pay a pretty penny. Basic economics tells me that if you really wanted it, and I'm the only way of getting it, than I would be able to mark that shizzle up. (I wouldn't do that b/c I'm not an ass) I think I want to throw it on my board and give it a try at the end of the summer. Thanks for the offer though. What's the worst that could happen?

senorbueno, 20 bucks! Holy shizzle dude that's insane. but oh well, i'll probably stick with the foam for a while, then if it really bugs me that much, i'll switch to griptape. I don't really care that much about grip burns, it's just that if i can aviod them without any performance issues, then why not? People do say that the K39 is a lot better with grip though...
