Come skate, watch, or just party with us.
Lonestar Wakeskate Jam 2005
Produced by Jerry Lafferty
New Braunfels, Texas - July 16, 2005
The Lonestar Wakeskate Jam is a music festival and wakeskate only contest, featuring a jam format with three divisions at the Texas Ski Ranch Master Craft boat lake on July 16, 2005. This event promises to deliver entertainment and extreme action from the best wakeskaters throughout the nation. Plus, this event provides an opportunity for all wakeskaters to compete in a competition at their riding level.
The Lonestar Wakeskate Jam will be at New Braunfels, Texas which is known for its smooth water and warm, sunny days. The nation’s top professional wakeskaters, like Scott Byerly, Brian Grubb, Drew McGuckin, Clint Tompkins, Aaron Reed, Thomas Horrell, and many others have been invited to visit this pristine location and display their riding prowess. Local pro riders such as Evan Lykes, Josh Steele, Sammy Woodson, Jesse Landry, Jerry Lafferty, and Savannah Barber are definitely going to be there throwing down.
This event requires a lot of support from sponsors, riders, and supporters. Texas Ski Ranch will provide the site, and Joe Harrison Motor Sports will provide a Sea-Doo, which will be the official PWC used to pull the jam. The headlining sponsors for this event are Under360, Wake Culture Clothing, Smith Optics, Texas Ski Ranch, Joe Harrison Motor Sports, and Lake Lessons. Liquid Force, Master Craft, Nevin, Reef, Straight Line, Coconutz, The Board Shop, No Fear, Burger King, Nissan, Da Hui, Red Bull, and JetPilot will be sponsoring the wakeskate jam as well. The pro division will be a five minute free ride session with a first place prize of $1000 cash. The advanced and beginner wakeskate division will have a three minute free ride session with first place winning a Liquid Force wakeskate, Wake Culture Clothing, Reef Byerly’s, and an Under360 DVD.
Besides all the radical maneuvers taking place on the TSR Master Craft boat lake, spectators and competitors will be entertained by the musical talents of “Air Tight Alibi” and other bands to be announced. As if there was not enough to keep everyone preoccupied, TSR is having another sponsored only skate contest on its 10,000 square foot metal skate park. This skateboard jam has five skaters riding against each other in their respective heats with five minutes of intensity and technical skating. Last time TSR did this, the skateboard action was off the hook!
Finally, after everyone has had their fill of skating at its finest both on and off the water, Coconutz will host an after party where Under360 will feature video highlights from the day’s wakeskating and skateboarding events while DJ Noble provides the ambience. An awards ceremony will follow for the pro wakeskaters and skateboarders where $1000 will go to first place for professional wakeskating. Second through fourth place in the professional wakeskate division will also receive cash for their outstanding athleticism. In addition to $3000 in cash prizes, there will be over $2500 worth of swag to be given out to the riders. The best skateboarder will receive $250 cash for his skills. This definitely is going to be one of the biggest parties at TSR! You would be crazy not to be there!

If you consistently throw shuvs you are advanced, beginner is allowed to throw one shuv as a money trick. Advanced and Pro will be pretty close and hard to divide but obviously if you are sponsored you will be in pro category. Bigspins are probably going to be the best trick allowed in advanced, possibly a kickflip as a wildcard or best trick. Obviously the Pro's know who they are and if they want to win the big bucks they'll pay to enter pro! _________________ woo. |

Do it ,the cable will be running also, the comp is on the boat lake so you can still hit the cable if you want to ride and not compete, there are some sweet new obstacles out there!! _________________ woo. |

There is a flatbar and a big A frame out in the boat lake (which is where we'll ride) but i'm afraid if it doesn't rain soon you'll have to ollie 4 feet to get on it.. I think they'll probably let us throw a barrel or two to ollie over and maybe some other little stuff, we'll see. I believe there is talk of constructing some new stuff before then. I'll keep you posted. Do a rain dance! _________________ woo. |
