I was wondering, that if i cut off the kicktails on my karma like kento did, if i would still have to seal the board. i have heard that it was a closed cell materical board like the integrities but i have no way of figuring that out. any help would be appreciated.

It's not closed cell, it's compression molded foam. Seal the ends up...

im with hi right now and we got the tails cut off and sanded down the rails. im looking at the foam and it actually resembles the rails on the integrity. is there any way to tell the difference between the foams just by sight.

electricsnow, actually it is closed cell foam, but I wouls diga littel out of the foam and fillit with resin, for 3 reasons, its gonna add weight, which is good, and its gonna add durability, and finally if you dodnt rebond the ends together the board is entirely too flexible....

Did they change up their materials? I thought their board were compression molded, and I've seen other people's wakeboards take on water when the core was exposed.

Or, maybe that's why they call it the biolight 2 core...

The rails are the edges of the skate, mostly in reference to the bottom part.

The shape of the rails control how low your skate sits in the water while you're riding (round rails = skate sit low, sharp rails = skate sits high) It also has alot to do with how much traction your skate has. Sharp rails that make your skate sit higher tend to make the ride seem kinda slippy, while rounded rails will give you a little more control. Rails also effect how responsive your skate is. Sharp rails will give you a really fast edge transition, rounded rails give a more mellow cut.

I hope that helps, and you should never be afraid to ask questions like that. Anyone who bashes you for asking what rails are will probly get bashed with this hammer ---> Smash If I didn't ask the same thing a while ago, I would've never been able to answer your question

electricsnow, they make there cores out a closed cell foam material, the compression molding process of manufacture really has little to do with it being closed cell or not, but what actually causes the boards to split like that is water getting between the foam and the glass and expanding, not in the foam itself
