I just started wakeskating. I skated in 02 on a LF grip but havent done it since. SHould i spend the money to get wakeskate shoes (dvs or reef) or just get some cheap globes from pac sun. Is the drainage thing really a big deal. Thanks for the help. I just got a cassette to start off with, but im thinking i will have an integrity hopefully by mid summer. Anyone wanna sell a toystol or team used? I rode a byerly 142 with highbacks tell some jerk jacked it out of our boat at lake powell.

ssette41, to me drainage is a big deal. skate shoes can get very heavy in water because of all the foam. you can get some cheaper skate shoes and just drill holes in the soles, it works very well. cuts off a few pounds.

Personally, the feel of the DVS is way softer than the Reefs.
Reefs seams were tearing into my feet after a few sessions.
Think about it. Dvs makes skate shoes, reef makes sandles.

I just got my royal mesh dresdens and they are sicker than last years. The tongue is a lot softer, I put them on was like whoa. These are the shizzle.

I don't know what any of you guys are talking about. Kampus has the sickest shoes out there. Drills,Byerly's,DVS, and Patmark puddle jumpers?? None of those shoes have a real draining system in them. KS1's are sick and cheap.. I got mine for $59.99. Cheaper than bothe Byerly's and the DVS(mesh skate shoe, that tears the first time you ollie on normal grip)I had all of them. Byerly's haven't changed for the three or four years that they have been out. The DVS aren't even the same cut as a true skate shoe. I've seen these preppy fasion dorks, that don't even know what a wakeskate is rocking them. I asked him if he rode and he asked me if I wanted to make out. So, I wouldn't get them, people might think your gay.
