ok, im new, i haven't actually started yet but i want to very badly and i was just wondering, how do you get up? do you have to pull yourself up like you do wakeboarding? or do you have to like caveman off of something? _________________ go big or go home |

Check it out the Trick Tips section on the home page, this should help you better understand getting up as well as learning your first few tricks and even some advanced ones. _________________ arson-wake.com |

Some of the techniques are the same, and we share alot of the same tricks... but i really prefer to look at it as its own thing. _________________ arson-wake.com |

| its a bigger board and you dont drag your foot up the board when olling so the flick is more difficult |

| if you skate ull have a bigg advantage but it wont mean that youll get up and start poping big ollies or anything of the sort, i started about a year and a half ago and it took about 6months for me to have a a small amount of descent tricks. you'll want to learn how to snap ollies and pop 180's and then start trying shuv-its but make sure you pop those too. then look into using the wake like a rail and doing boardslides and lip slides. |

I think guys that come from a wakeboarding background are more advanced than skateboarders. I know a bunch of guys who can barely stand on a skateboard, but they can kickflip a wakeskate. I think the feeling of wakeboarding is more useful than being able to skateboard. _________________ ::The Endless Summer 05::

small town skater, if you wakeskate enough and get that uber wakeskate-ollie-stomp, you might break a couple more skateboards faster, that's about it. |

I think wakeboarders have an easier time riding around but when it starts getting technical a skateboarder background will help so much more...
wakeboard is just the feel on the water and edging lol
ollies and pop is it's own thing, it's not the same as a skate ollie... _________________
