Do you ever feel like there is just something different about wakeskating? I mean I really suck at wakeboarding haha, i tried it for a whole summer and was barely doing w2w grabs and 180's and a few 3's ( falling alot). And dont even get me started about skateboarding...i fall ollieing onto a curb 90% of the time (seriously no kidding). And granted im not great at wakeskating but it just feels more comfortable...like your in control...i relate wakeskating to wakeboarding like riding a motorcycle to driving a car...u ride a skate more then drive it...making any sense?
Does anybody else feel this way? Are any of u guys not really good at the other aspects of wake and skate? cause i got some friends who are ridiculously good at wakeboarding, but just kind of pass wakeskating off as something u do inbetween the real pulls.
just venting in my altered state right now _________________ For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, and sometimes a scar.

I've skated damn near my whole life(not so much anymore cause age is catching up) and I've been wakeskating since 99, and I have always releted to it much more then anything else. I just feel real comfy on a wakeskate. I haven't wakeboarded in over a year, but will probably pick it back up( in small amounts,) once I get my boat back on the water.
I haven't been stoked on strapping in awhile, but there are some exciting things coming out soon, that have me thinking about squezing into a pair of rubber straps
sorry if I'm ranting, I had my wizdom teeth pulled today, and the vicodin has a hold on my brain |

oh yeah, tell your strapper friends that wakeboarding is only a novelty that you do in between your real runs(wakeskating) |

i've been wakeboarding for atleast 8 years now and i can only do some basic inverts, 3's, and rails. with wakeskating i progressed 100X faster. the only time i wakeboard now is when i ride with my school's ski team or whenever i go out with people who have pimp ass boats
ps. shoes are rock ass compared to boots _________________ "it is better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation." |

I broke my knee on a wakeboard 2 years and a half ago and been wakeskating for a year now. Haven't straped once since I got back on my feet.
But the first time I saw a fish on the net I was drooling on my keyboard... *wakeskate with straps...* looks like such a fun board!
Now I wait for Jesson to bring some down to Tahiti so I can demo that little 125 monster ^^ _________________

| Totally agree with bama, been skating on and off since I was knee high to a grass hopper and I'm as good or maybe slightly better on a wakeskate and I've only been doing it for 1 season now. It just feels so right compared to wakeboarding which is really how big and wakeskating is how tech and stylish. Still like wakeboarding though just not as much. |

I feel you Bama. I grew up on the beach: boogie, skate, knee, wake, to surf. Surfing was the biggie, it's the ultimate sport b/c of it's freedom. Free from straps and free from the handle. The source is so natural and spiritual itis incomparable. Then there is wakeskating, the wakeskate revolution. I was at a bar on the bay this summer, and looking at the glass around the boat slips left me drooling. B/c of wakeskating I will never look at water the same. Before I was simply grazing with the doe in the pasture. Now I'm sizing her up with my 12G. Unbelievable, now my mom, girl, and some of my friends fear that wakeksating is consuming me too much. They don't understand. I'm glad I have some friend out there who do. Peace out to wakeskating.com. _________________ dbanana wrote:

Hey crazy Syber...your sig makes me feel free
Wow i thought i was the only person who was like this...i dont think it is the sport of wakeskating itself that captivates us but more the freedom and the individuality that wakeskating offers us
Albino Chicken i think its so much more cooler when somebody goes big on a wakeskate then on a wakeboard though, cause i see guys pulling inverts 24/7 but every time somebody does a w2w shuv or something im just in awe...there is no feeling like getting on edge, poppin, flip, catch and land...i love it
Raven...EXACTLY...everybody says im obsessed...but its really a passion
And as for the LF fish we'll have to see...i think it is kinda like a skate with straps...it might be fun for spins... _________________ For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, and sometimes a scar.

i dont even know if soemone already said this but i dont feel like reading all the posts.
wakeskating is awesomer than like skateboard or snowboarding or i guess even wakebaording because its chill. yea sure i read all those horror stories on the worst experience ever thread but like skateboarding and snowbaording are scary. for me. falling hurts. wakeskating...its no big deal. water owns pavement and snow. youre more liekly to try things you wouldnt do on a wakeskate than on a skateboard because there isnt anything to be scared of really. thats why i like it. wakebaording is still sketch cause your strapped in. but isnt so bad as far as pain except its rape on the knees.
all in all
wakeskating owns because falling in water is super compared to pavement or packed snow

i loveareed...i guess that might be part of it cause i am always a little iffy when i come up on a rail...i know its gonna hurt if i fall
Satori thats kinda like me though...But as far as skateboarding...i can do almost every trick standing still...lol...i mean the whole works, kickflips, varials, ollie pretty high...but once i start moving, its a whole different story...i look like a retard in a room full of bouncy balls _________________ For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, and sometimes a scar.

| yea i think its mainly a matter of commitment as far as moving faster. plus it feels so much better to stick a kickflip going fast. thats the thing i appreciate about wakeskating, theres really no cheating. i mean all the tricks are done at around 20 miles per hour, so it really just comes down to however you can manage to land on your board and stand back up to claim a trick, unlike in skateboarding how your feet can touch, or you can fall back in snowboarding and such. |

| satori* nothing impressive about it. I just tried to ollie on a skateboard like a month ago, and I could not do it. Probably cause I did it just like I do it on a wakeskate, which didn't get me in the air at all. I'll stick to my 20 mph and my water though, I didn't feel right on a skateboard, it's too small. |
