A) no single person has thought of wakeskating. It's been a collective effort.
B) See "A". THough, jason messer was the first dude to make anything specifically for wakeskating.
C) No
D) I think you're right _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

It was first started in Hawaii by Navy men stationed at Pearl Harbor circa 1935...
It was called Freeboard Aqua Planing... then Freeboarding... then Skurfing helped introduced the straps and it drifted in that direction... then it became skiboarding then Wakeboarding... now it's crossed back to it's roots and we call it "wakeskating"... i still prefer Freeboarding... cause as much as people are trying to make it into skateboarding and emulate, it still has it's own identity that rests some where in between Surfing and Skating. |

Shmaltz cool bit of info.Hawaii eh,that brings more soul to the sport hooking it up to the birthplace of surfing.I always thought some surfer must of tried something similar to wakeskating long ago.I know I skurfed long before I ever heard of wakeboarding or wakeskating.

Erich,
It is so cool to see you posting on here, also its really cool that you are still in the industry keeping the DIY alive. I'll buy one of your boards if my old cassette ever dies. |

DIY = Do I Yourself, the original punk rock ethic.
I don't know when this skate will crack, I keep resealing the edges and its seems to be doing fine. |
