too many people wakeskate there... in FL it seems to me that everyone is trying to be the best and everyone takes it too serous... in louisiana nobody cares about the politics and noone tries to take anyones tricks.... id much rather be laying low having fun with my boys then be on the cover of some mag. i mean that would be wonderfull a dream come true, but in louisiana people arnt all for themselfs, for example... me and someone go film for someones video mag, i stick a new hot trick.... later on that day someone who lands backside flips sees my new hot trick and goes out and trys them over and over.... it really gets to me... orlando is awesome... but id rather lay low down here and ride for myself, and ride for the true reason i ride. because i love it. im just gunna sit back and film all next year and hopefully come out with an award winning video part.

on another note, theres no way id ever test any of integritys new products in FL.....
why? because people cant think for themselfs.

ryan, i got alot of respect for you man. it takes alot to relaize all that and not just fall into the scene and sellout like mr. backside flips. i havent spent much time up there but i could easily see all that happening and your right people rely on other people to make up their minds. thats cool though that you got to experince the orlando scene for a while and figured out what you truly enjoy. let me ask you did you like being in fill in the blanks and having your name mention in alliance? do you not like the publicity scene at all?

i love the publicity thing... of course i do, i mean thats great and all... im just not in it for that. i want to be known you know i mean its great walking into a place and seeing people be like.. woah thats ryan lemons ect.... i wont lie, it makes me feel good about myself and all, and i was really stoked to read about myself in alliance... but im not gunna saleout to this big industry and let it change who i am, i've allways said since day one... i wanna be the P.J. Ladd of the sport,(for those who dont know p.j.ladd is the sickest skater ever) and live out where not to many pros live... and not do competitions...and just sit at home away from the spotlight and do my own thing like him, and come out with the sickest most breathetaking video parts. riding to me is an art, and i want to expose that art threw video and be represented the way i want to be. thats why i chose integrity. erich doesnt care what i do, like most companys want you in the spotlight in pro tour in toe jam in vans ect... erich doesnt care about that, i dont compete because its not a competition to me.... i think best when im sitting there on the board trying the same trick over and over for two hours strait with blood red eyes and cramps all over my body pushing myself to concure this board and break grounds with tricks that we'd think are physicaly impossible as a human due to physics ect.... thats why we've been talking about the integrity vid so much... i get on this mission and when i have a trick in mind that noone else is doing i sit there and i push myself because it feels good to me getting slammed time after time knowing that im making my mark commiting and knowing i have a dream that im pushing... and knowing im about to be the first in the world.... that to me is more awarding then anything, i mean if i truely wanted spotlight id go compete and get all this publicity from the media and all and get tons of sponcers.... i dont care, id rather be the kid you hardly hear about thats doing it for himself and when you see him in videos your jaw just drops. thats how i wanna do this whole thing.. im taking a slightly diffrant aproach i guess.

Very rarely do I actually make posts and/or comments on this site, but I am a regular user and observer of what goes on here. But that post by rukusrider, is somewhat a dissappointment. Man, wakeskating is so young, and new, that when you develop a new trick, it is definitely going to get, as you say, "ripped off". Dude you should be flattered that your trick gets ripped off, but as with other riders, it is about them stealing your trick. Man either get a life or open your eyes, this sport is so young a kickflip is the hottest trick....seriously, think about that for a second. Look at skateboarding, about 20 million kids skate, gues how many can kickflip, you get my point. If you were skating and moved to Los Angeles, and skated with the pros, (like orlando) you would get your tricks ripped all the time, your creativity is being copied by someone else is another form of flattery, but I guess that your too young (or bitter)to appreciate that. Your so called hardflip was being worked on months before you actually landed one so does that make you a thief because you landed it?, I absolutely think not! That is the thing, I know orlando is FULL of people that want to be either a pro wakeboarder or wakeskater, it is disgusting, I see it almost everyday, and hear about it almost every hour, Probably 1 percent of these kids actually could make it, and about 99 percent of them are haters and do not appreciate what they have. It is all about respect, (like the topic of this thread, you give it and you will get it back). I read some of these topics and read what people have to say, to see what other people outside of orlando have to say, but it makes me shake my head and laugh as to reasons why kids want to move here so bad. And then when they get here it is a real eye opener, especially when almost all the riders (pros and am's) here can actually do all the same tricks that you have, a little shocking, but it happens. I wanted to write a little response, because, I am a little disgusted at the way things are looked at in this sport, I started because it is fun, it still is, and always will be, and I see kids day in and out talk about how they have to land this trick or that trick, because the tour is 8 months away, are you serious, sit back and analyze what is important to you, if it was me, it would be appreciation for what I have, a beautiful day on a waterway, enjoying a life and sport.

ok im sorry, i'll take your advise and get a life then.

and by the way.... it didnt take me months to land a hardflip, it took me less then an hour so i dont know where you got that from.

ok this is me getting a life now............. bye.

Nobody can own a trick. If someone does it first, great. Someone else can learn it too.

I fully understand the idea of riding for yourself. I think that board sports are more of an art form than a sport, so I'm not really into the competition thing, but I guess it pushes some people to try new things so to each his own.
