It could SO be you.
I vaguely remember reading this Parks Bonifay article in Wakeboarding Magazine years back... He was talking about a new trick he had dreamed about, and how it was something in his mind he'd deemed impossible. But at some point, essentially on a lark, he decided to go out and give it a shot.
The sentiment was similar to someone playing the lottery: "There's virtually no way I'm going to win, but I might as well try." He ended up stomping it after a few tries.
Sure, that's Parks Bonifay. It would be easy to reserve that type of success for only the elite.
No matter, it was certainly a story that resonated with me. I can't tell you how many times I've thought in the exact same way over the course of my many years wakeboarding. I remember the first time I landed a 180: A 360 was out of the question. After landing my first 3, I couldn't even fathom a five. Sticking my first 5 felt phenomenal; albeit with the realization that a 720 was for the gods.
I stuck my first 7 just days after I graduated high school, along with a couple more variations in the following months.
But you're probably right. You probably won't be the first person to hit a shuv Indy to finger flip.
But the possibility exists. |
