Hello all,
We released a new description video of Collin Gee's new 40" Project Concave Mark II
https://vimeo.com/140444904
It's likely that many of you have already seen Project's latest boards from the new Book Series that became available a couple months ago. We are really stoked on these boards they are new Mark II Concaves. We didn't want to make superficial changes to the boards to push a redundant product the same as the model before it. That being said we made some advancements to the construction and materials that maximize performance and make riding these boards more inviting to a wider range of riders. These new boards are more buoyant, track smoother, release easier, and slide on all surfaces with much more ease.
Give the video a click and enjoy!

Projects look sooo good. Always liked the concave and tail/nose shape. Might have to get one of these suckas. What's the base consist of? Meaning any special material for rails or just a laminate? _________________ I like to choke when my team needs me the most, no Romo. |

jboss, Thanks man! We are pretty in love with the concave (probably my personal favorite feature ) The base is a specialized synthetic fabric that we soak in epoxy that adheres to the base wood ply. It makes for a super slick slide on obstacles and even glides over rough concrete. We changed up some of the chemicals for the adhesion process. Now with the new bases on the Mark II's they slide better than previous models. The epoxy and fabric hold up well on impact against obstacles and rails, and when it does eventually wear down it wears down to a separately sealed and reinforced bottom base wood ply. _________________ http://projectsports.com.br

Was just on the site for some specs and noticed the weight is over 13 lbs? (6 kg). Jus checking to see if this is right because it also says the length is 35 inches when converted from metric. _________________ I like to choke when my team needs me the most, no Romo. |

Gnarly Dancer 42, I think that's why I like the shape. Rounded nose/tail and mellow concave look like it feels really skateboardish. _________________ I like to choke when my team needs me the most, no Romo. |

jboss, Hey man, sorry about that. I'll get on fixing that. The boards are closer to the 10lbs - 10.5lbs range depending on if you purchase the 39"or the 40". If you are wanting one on the lighter end we have a few in stock that were specifically made a little lighter for people wanting that.
Gnarly Dancer 42, They are certainly similar. Collin and myself switched from Integrity's over to Project a couple years back and really dug the similarities that the boards already shared. Then we tweaked some things we were wanting different on them as well. _________________ http://projectsports.com.br

WERDna, thought that seemed a bit heavy. Ten sounds like a good weight. Not digging all these heavy ass skates on the market these days. How much lighter are the light ones? _________________ I like to choke when my team needs me the most, no Romo. |

jboss, Heavier boards have their advantages and so do light ones. It just comes down to preference. I am beginning to enjoy lighter and lighter boards the more I get used to them, but there is a certain consistency to heavier boards I like as well -- The ones we make specifically lighter than normal can be anywhere between half a pound or a quarter of a pound lighter. This weight difference is a result of a reduced number of wood plies. The weight difference isn't hugely noticeable when holding the board but you can feel it on the water. _________________ http://projectsports.com.br
