Well currently i ride a 38.5 integ

I ride behind the john boat 60-70% of the time and then the rest is big boat wake to wake. Im 6' 185 and wear a size 12 shoe. Im really going to buckle down and work on getting kickflips this year. I prefer the shorter boards so i am looking at 39s.

Throw me some suggestions on boards to try. Money isnt really an issue but give me a reason why to buy a 2015 board when a 2014 is $100 cheaper? Ive never actually owned a wood wake skate. Whats going to be a good transition? Who has the best shapes, durable, etc...

I would recommend trying an Obscura Tao 39. It has a wood core for the feel, but urethane rails and glass upper and bottom. It is an extremely durable skate. If you have a local shop that sells skates, or other riders around you, try as many boards as you can before making a decision. I keep several skates at Texas Ski Ranch for people to try out just for that reason. Usually you can find lots of skaters riding different boards at cable parks. That is, of course, if you have a park nearby.

I think the most popular answers here will be the Tao as Aaron mentioned, Remote, Water Monsters, or Virtue

Def check out the Tao it will fee similar to your integ just with some more weight to it so it wont fly away like a origami bird in the wind. Virtue is super solid man, ive been riding mine over a year and its in perfect shape, rails, w2w its lasting no problem. I wouldnt suggest remote, they just fall apart way to easy. My buddy has gone through like 4-5 this year. His brand new one he just got from Steven last month has cracks and the bottom grind base is separating from the wood.

alexxx to be fair Danny has a habit of breaking every board he rides. Give him your Virture for a week and I bet you will get it back with stress cracks if not completely snapped in two.

wakemitch has two remotes that have been ridden 90% of the time at the cable parks with lots of abuse and they are holding up fine. One of those is the older Rad Series from 2013 and a Native Series from 2014.

The Taos are a solid board that are well rounded for boat/PWC riding along with holding up at the parks/winching. I havent seen any that were damaged beyond being rideable yet.

Up first is the new WM 40" if it would ever show up. Miller sent it out 2 weeks ago and it's driving us both crazy, should have been a 5-7 day deal.

Next I think I'm going to try an older remote series 39-40

Having ridden a small virtue I'd be willing to try a larger one this go around in the 39-40 range. The one I rode was just too narrow.

The width/ shape of the WM is what I'm most excited about.

Hi everybody,

I'm going to share this topic for my question...I'm riding a Catalyst Hyperlite Brian Grubb 2013 in 42...like a big boat, easy to ride.

I ride mostly behind my seadoo...and sometimes at the cable but not very often.
Well, i'm 5'10 and about 171lbs.

I 'd like to buy a new board in wood. I have some sales on remote 2014 native series but the question is what about the size? One guy told me to take a 39...but an other told me to stay above 40.

I heard that wood boards give a different feeling and floatability...any help on the subject?

You will be okay with either size. It's personal preference and you won't really know which one is best until you are a good enough rider to actually be able to tell the difference. Neither one is too big nor too small, so pick one and ride it a lot.

Can anyone compare the TAO and SHIFT? I ride off a jet ski at a fairly beginner level, shuvs, body varials, big spin and shuv 360's are what I mostly work on. I'm 5'11" 160 and I have no idea what size I'd get. I have a New right now but it's always felt really heavy to me...

geissap, Tao is pretty dank. Got the 39" and been very satisfied. Weight is 9.65 as measured on my scale, so considerably lighter than most wood decks. Only difference between Tao and Shift is the Shift is asymmetrical and doesn't have the grind base.

I'm 5'8" 145 so I def like a smaller board. But my boy Reese just got one and he's like 5'10" 155 160 and he loves it. Yea I dont like asymm. Had the 40" Horrell Bi and the asymm shape threw me off a little. Might be a mental thing but I wasn't feeling it. If you can get a good price on the Tao I'd say jump on it.
