Interesting... parachord though? That stuff is so incredibly elastic.
Also, they included shots of Andrew Adams (Shredtown rider) and what appears to be Ben Horan (not positive). Both of whom are sponsored by Ridiculous winches. Unless they left their previous sponsorship, this company is way out of line (both ethically and legally) using their likeness to promote their product. |

Looks like a boodog to me. Didn't boodog say that they could do rider controlled as well?
I wonder what the price will be.

Depending on how you want to set it up. Quick answer yes you could set everything up to ride alone.
Now if you want to be able to adjust the pull as in "controlling the winch as a real winch driver or boat driver or jet ski driver" in real time, things get a bit harder, it can be done, just way harder.
Setting up a counter and coding a program that would pull set speed for (how ever long the rope was spooled out) the length needed to ride, and repeating is "rider controlled" and its also Not "rider controlled"
Id like to see what they have going and what their definitions are.
Either way
THE FUTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

the concept is cool but i think the design is tacky... looks like a spoof off of a grinch winch. These guys are going to price this thing so high- just under three i bet |

bs, that really isn't that high of a price you are speculating. Also it could hardly be called a grinch spoof. That winch appears far more squared of a shaped and much smaller.
For an electric winch that can be rider operated, that is a very reasonable price if it falls under $3,000. If all of those functions work wonderfully, where the battery can last a full day of winching and be self operated nearly as precisely as an additional person driving I would be willing to pay far over $3,000.
I expect them to price it anywhere between $3,500-$4,500 |

Has anyone seen any updates from these guys? They have a video of the winch working. It would be cool to learn a little more about these winches.

there is a few clips of him using it by himself on FB
going to be weird to see anyone handle pass and get their hand back on the controls
or let the rope go and that handel and expensive remote equipment slam around some real winch spots
concrete + water + electronics + speed is very difficult to work with
I also think its neat to see Ben Shredtown and Dan Brisse are all riding new trick winches.......kind of weird tho considering we haven't seen it yet |

Yeah I dont know if it is the most practical thing for drops or any other spots where it could get damaged. I think it would be cool to use on just some flat water if you wanted to ride and had no one to go with. Although I dont know if it would be worth the price tag to have that option.
It is cool to see those guys on the team, it is a little weird that they are still listed on both new tricks and ridiculous' websites as being part of the team. |
