New Remote series. Says they're thinner. I hope not by much, I love my fat boy ride.

AMAZING GRAPHICS! The Hooker and Labadens are my fav by far. Really original
Smash

Are they made by the same manufacturer? I really hope not, I saw way to many cracked and broken boards from last years series.

First of all I love remote I've been riding a 40" for a year now and it's my favorite board ever. I bought it off my buddy but would prefer it a little shorter. These new graphics are sick!

Leo's instagram said "couple changes to it, lighter and thinner". This makes me sad because I love a thick and heavy wood wakeskate just like the remote I ride.

Looking forward to seeing how all the boards are made, weight, shape, construction, etc. Also saw on insta "made in USA with good wood from the North West" so I assume it's the same moonshine manufacturing.

ps to remote or moonshine - my ideal board would be a 39.0" remote shape that's even one ply thicker, custom order por favor?

Any rider reviews on these? Are they thinner because they took out a ply or are they thinner just because of a thinner grind base?

They took a ply out of the Leo, Yan, and Hooker.
The base is the same

I tried the new Leo and liked it more than the old Leo. I missed the weight though

what did you like more in the new ones?

I also like the weight of my radical series so I am curious what tradeoffs there are to less weight.

I have this same question about the beefyness of the skates. I ride a roadkill Yan (39.5) at the moment and am hesitant to switch to a new Leo bc what initially hooked me on the remotes was the weight/concave/thickness.
Thinking of just snagging an older one to hold onto until this road kill finally gives up...

The thick skates rode too high on the water for me. The thinner boards react quicker in my opinion, but it could also be that I rode the thinner Nick Taylor deck for a few years and got used to it.

But now I'm really preferring the feel and ride of the new Water Monsters. I prefer boards that sit deeper in the water and have more weight. I just wish they were more durable like the Remotes when it comes to riding rails a lot.

I'm honestly sad they made these 1 ply thinner. Now there isnt really a company out there that makes them as thick as the Remotes were for a few years. I really wish they would just make every .5 inch deck 1 ply thinner, and every .0 deck the thickness they had for the past few years.
So: 38.5,39.5,40.5 all 1 ply thinner
40.0,41.0, and introduce a 39.0 (maybe an Andy Kolb) all fatties

how is the grindbase on the new ones?i have a old one from nick taylor with the bicycle graphics on and it's kinda sticky on the obstacles..i ride in a cable park with obstacles from unit and it's only the remote that doesn't slide that well..
