I wouldn't consider it a war for the stability of a certain currency but more as a war for recources. Iran, which holds vast resources of oil, is the main goal for US based corporations. hence cheap resources make for cheap production costs which in turn enable you to have a low market cost for your product, thus beeing competitive against countries like China where labor still cost way less than in western countries.
It plainly is big corporations trying to gain in interests and resources. And they have been walking that bloody path for quite a while now - Iraq beeing one of the latest examples.
In the end it looks that way to me. Politics are just beeing used and manipulated. Money rules the world.
I wonder how much more it takes for people to wake up and act accordingly.
I'm really somewhat scared to see what will go down in the near future.
I cant believe anyone being behind Obama, even if you voted for him i cant comprehend why anyone would still have his back, please some of you crazy's that voted for him, i know there are a bunch of you on here, please explain to me his tactic....
he is spineless.... a liar... and making 'merica look so weak.... and contradictory... which is basically summing up his entire campaign since day one. a giant contradiction.
i hope everyone has a gas mask handy near your bed side for when Syria strikes us with bio-WMD.
And before everyone attacks me and says "what are we supposed to do? attack?" im not saying that, but the way it has been handled flip flopping all around and not standing by the crossing of the "red line" obama threw down.... it just making us look so terribly weak. with bush, clinton, bush sr.... and before.... no1 would mess with America.... maybe terrorist group, but not a country.... now we are getting walked all over with the Benghazi incident etc.... Obama is going to take Carters position as "worst president in us histroy" for sure....
Anyway, please fill me in on what Obama has done correct with this issue.... maybe fox news is just misinforming me
Also i apologize if i hi-jacked your thread lollar, a mod can move it to a separate thread if necessary, just didnt want to start one when this kinda flowed with the title.
This time line is kind of crazy and assumes a lot. I think there is a chance it could happen but to say that our actions now are paralleling our actions in the past seems rather far-fetched.
This thread makes me think of one of my favorite quotes by Einstein:
“I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.” _________________ 407-212-7425
The United States budget is 58% (695.7 Billion Dollars) of the gross global military spending, with China being the closest with 120 billion dollars. We have the second largest standing army in the world, and the most advanced military technologies.
Lollar, The function of the CIA has always been to protect American business interests, and the military has been used almost exclusively for this purpose since the end of WWII. This certainly paints a picture of extensive unsustainable meddling & untrustworthiness on the part of America on the international stage, but I don't think it's a clear cut road to WWIII. Full-scale nuclear war is not good for business, which tends to be the only motivation for international conflict these days, apart from religious zealotry & whatever the fuc.k is up with North Korea. Our massive stockpiles of nuclear weapons are a deterrent force by existence alone. Even with my dismal opinion of most humans collectively, I don't think anyone with the keys is stupid enough to jump into full-scale thermonuclear war. There is simply no positive outcome.
-=AlexXx=-, At this point, I don't think anyone actually believes that presenting a rational argument is going to broaden your perspective, so it really just becomes an invitation for you to spout recycled talking points from Fox "News"... So yeah, no one really wants to open those floodgates (Pleeeeeease stop watching that bullsh.it)
I really can't see another world war breaking out for any reason. What I think this country really needs is a good old fashioned race war, something to really unite the people and bring everyone together again.
Mr. Top Hat, i think our "pot" has "melted" a little to much if u know what i mean lol
If by "our "pot"" you mean AMERICA, and by "has "melted"" you mean doing something that quality cookware should not do, then no, I do not know what you mean. Only poor quality pots would melt, they would have to be made of like plastic or chocolate or something stupid and melty like that. The way you are coming off sounds like you hate America.
-=AlexXx=-, The general attitude towards this situation for most people seems to be mildly stoked that we're not getting dragged into another war in the Middle East, in which US intervention is unjustified & potentially illegal by international standards... I don't know where you're getting the impression that most people support the President anymore. He's Bush the 3rd, maybe worse for all the deception. At least with W everyone knew they were getting fuc.ked, but Obama still smiles like everything's alright. I think this quote kind of sums up my perception of the reality of it all...
A few years ago, in a similar thread, I wrote:
Tyranny has manifested itself in the form of an autonomous oligarchy posing with the façade of a two-party system. Democracy is gone if we ever had it. No matter what color (red vs. blue) controls the White House, the Senate, or the House, it's still the same ominous old white men sitting in the shadows making the calls. There are no sides, so you either sh.it hard about everything they do and let the strings they pull move you to anger or tears, or you can just appreciate the fact that the founding fathers set up such a strong resisting defense against such tyranny and enjoy your freedom while you have it, but don't kid yourself, they are doing just about everything they can to control your lives and while I don't see the American population rising to defend itself when it thinks "queers and abortion" are the enemy, I am excited to be a part of this time period in history and perhaps witness the fall of the empire.
nick, I agree with your statement completely..... My g/f posted that video i posted on her youtube, and there were 7000 comments and like 1 outa 5 were pro obama... thats what even sparked my post on here... because i couldn't comprehend who and why??? Thats I am under the impression that some, not most, people still support him. His last speak to address the current issue was a complete joke and didnt state anything anyone didnt already know. Whatever... hopefully things dont get to bad.
