Last night my brother , a friend, and I drove 2 hours out into the wilderness to a magical place. Though the Tail of the Dragon into NC to a small little place called Santeethla. A town of 46 full time residents.

Dropped in the johnboat and headed to the campsite. Setup a tarp and an old bonaroo trashed tent. Then loaded back up for the two hour drive home. Its imperative to claim your spot as early as possible. We hit the southwest side near blue boar and ride those fingers(westbuffalo mile)

Friday I will be heading back to this place to stay until monday.

No cell service. No people. No way to access the site without a 5 hr hike or via water. Serenity in its finest.

Three days to fish, paddle, camp, cook, drink, burn trees, and of course WAKESKATE! I will turn a year older while I am out in the woods. Taking time to forget the day to day. The city. The nonessential. Just be with my Wife, new pup, brother and close friends. A pound of Maple Bacon for each day(per person, you are required to cook and eat a lb of bacon in the am to yourself). Nap in a tree. Skip Rocks. Collect fallen trees and keep a fire in the rain. I have been going up to this lake and spot for years. You might recognize it from the malibu shots. A local film company saw a video* ( or two*) a friend made 5 years ago and now its the "go to" place to get that mountainous boat shot of a butter lake. You might also remember it from a few shots Grubb put on IG while they were there. Its an amazing place. Better on the camping side than the developed cabin rental/ marina side, but an unbelievably beautiful place to ride regardless of how you stay there.

If you have never grabbed your gear, some friends, and gone on a few day adventure, I highly suggest doing it as soon as possible. Now only to make it to friday. Cool

**video one , im the only skater//video two is better overall feel of camping but only strapping i was injured at the time
