Do you guys have any tips to improve my ollie height/consistency? I can ollie about 5 inches on average right now. I weigh 115 pounds and use a ronix electric collective 43" 2012. Could my weight/wakeskate size be interfering with my ollie height? |

Yes, your board is large for your weight, but that doesn't prevent you from ollieing higher. Just takes practice |

I have tried lifting my feet higher but I don't feel like I can trust the board to stay on my feet. Should I start with more weight in my front foot and and then shift it all into my back foot? I have also found if I do a double weight shift it does not help me get higher olllies. |

place your back foot all the way back.
pull that handle in tight close to your hip
flatten off before you attempt
let go with your back hand
stomp down on your back foot as hard as you can
practice practice practice it will come |

practice on a skateboard. if you cant ollie on a skateboard then do it over and over and over on it, that way no one is having to turn around and pick you up over and over. its basically the same feel, and yes, just trust that the board will come with you when you ollie. it will come with you. just snap your back foot hard, slide your front foot up and forward and flatten it out. |

jazzbox you shouldnt have to worry about falling. the driver is lame if they get annoyed with having to turn around and pick you up over n over when trying to learn a new trick. it's your time and ride. once you learn ollies the way you want them you're gonna have to start learning another.
a solid prepop helps the front of your board get up, then slide your front foot like senza mentioned. sliding will cause the front of your board to go out which in turn will cause the back of the board to go up and out too so you want to jump n pick up your back foot at the same time. the better timing and the better you kick out/raise your foot, the higher the ollie. rest is practice and feel. _________________ Zero.

Are you actually supposed to slide your front foot up like a skateboard instead of just bringing your legs with the board? Also do you recommend doing a prepop before tricks? |

jazzbox, Sliding your foot up does nothing at all. You can do it but it wont help.
I only pre-pop on FS Bigspins because its awkward to pop any other way on that trick. |

are you kidding? how not? it picks up the back of the board higher....
and yea some say they don't prepop...i do for everything....sometimes it's subtle, just a quick push down then it comes back up....you can see it all over the retention video if you look close... _________________ Zero.

Zero., because you don't need to drag your board up like in skateboarding? I mean I've never seen anyone ollie by sliding there foot up the board in a skateboard fashion. Iv'e tried it just messing around and it had no effect at all on my ollie. _________________ ---------------------------

senza wake, I just watched some videos in slow motion. Even watched a few of my self olliing some gaps and my foot doesn't really slide up or anything it just kinda rolls ever so slightly. I don't know maybe I'm doing it "wrong" but I can ollie pretty big so I'm fine with it. _________________ ---------------------------
