I have a 6.5 hp predator engine, the other day I was pulling someone and it worked fine for a while. But then when I started it to pull the person it revved fine but wouldn't go at riding speed, no matter how much I used the throttle it just pulled line in really slow and wouldn't go faster. Any ideas? |

Are you using a TAV or a centrifugal clutch?
Make sure the air filter and carburetor are clean, visually inspect your fuel lines, and try a new plug.
It can't be the gear ratio unless you physically changed something. _________________ 407-212-7425 |

I am using a tav, I didn't think to check the carb and air filter, I'll try that. |

Try walking the rope out and use the engine to pull it back in without a rider on it. Does it spool back up at normal speed? _________________ 407-212-7425 |

Last summer my TAV was doing that. Next time check to see if the drive pulley is fully engaging. If it's not you may need a new set of weights, they're like $40 I think. |

it does the same thing, I'm gone for the weekend and won't be able to mess with it but when I come back I'll try to get into more detail.

I guess I figured it out haha, this bolt on the side of the tav was loose and I hadn't noticed it, tightened it up and it seemed back to normal. I'll try pulling someone this week and hopefully it's good. |

Put some red loctite on that bolt to keep that from happening again. _________________ 407-212-7425 |
