| So my big bow rider's lower unit blew out last season. I've been thinking about starting wakeskating for about two years now but all I have is a 12 foot aluminum boat with an 8hp 1990 Tohatsu outboard on it. The driver and spotter total weight would be about 265lbs. I weigh about 120 and would have a place to dry water start. Would 8hp be enough? |

8hp is plenty for a winch..... but a boat, no. probably need at least 25.......
but you'll never know till you try. _________________

Ive tried behind a 15 horse and it was a no-go. not saying it would be impossible but a 25 would be the minimum in my opinion. _________________ www.backyardrailpark.com |

I used to have a boat in Jax with a little 25hp on it and I could skate it. _________________

| I used to ride behind a 14ft skiff with a 15hp, starting was difficult but once you got up you were fine. But we were also 14, I don't think I could ride behind it now |
