After a couple years I have grown tired of my vans they retain a lot of water and then smell horrible when they dry. Also they have seemed to shrink not to mention how they feel after they dry. Anyways I am looking to buy wakeskate shoes. I have done quite a bit of research on the internet on all the different shoes. I think I have settled on the UGP Doyle II's. With that been said I like all three of the color selections so I am wondering what you guys think. If you have other shoes that you like let me know I will take all opinions into account for my final decision.

vballwarrior, are the shoes to shred or are you planning on hitting the runway with your griptape? it's a valid question.

The UGP shoes can be a bit more padded...I thought they were a pretty comfy shoe but the materials in the heel can be a bit akward. Beyond that, I really can't say anything bad about them. I'd say buy the shoes you want instead of having people on a message board pick them for you.

I currently ride mesh munition CTs by DVS and I really like those. They've got really good grip and I just like the way they look and feel. I've also rocked the buywake kenyans by DVS and those were really comfy as well, but not everyone likes a track styled shoe.

HAHA. Good one. The shoes are to shred obviously but I just like to be different. When I am out on the lake I get tired of seeing the same colors. For example my boat is red white and black. My wakeboard (hyperlite 3ds) is red white and black. My wakeskate (hyperlite kharma 111) is black, grey, white, red, orange, yellow. My life jacket (hyperlite) is black white and blue. Hence why i wear boardshorts with neon colors and put neon grip tape on a section of my board.

Really. Nothing can be heavier than the vans i use right now. I get out of the water and tons of water comes rushing out and I got to squeeze them to get all the rest of it out.

Nike SB ZOOM TRE!!!

By far the best shoes to wakeskate in! I have been riding for over four years and have tried over 10 different types of shoes and the Zoom Tre's have been the best. They are very duriable and hold Zero Water. I bought mine a half size small and they are perfect. YOu can feel the board under your feet so well and they makes your feet SOOO light!! Also the toe is stronger than any fabric and it makes the shoe last 4ever! I've already bought a second pair for when mine run out.

personal preference is what its all down to here i have a few shoes some proper wakeskate shoes, some just old skate(bored) shoes which i prefer as they are already worn in an I'm very use to them.

I think that to much time is spent worrying about equipment, if you can do it you can do it, other wise you just spend your whole time blaming shoes, boards, etc

UPDATE. I went and bought the Nike SB Zoom Tre's in Royal Blue after looking at the Cush and Zoom Tre. I just liked the look, the synthetic ultra durable upper, and it seemed to be more breathable than the Cush. I wore them for about 5 - 10 min just around out at the lake to break them in a little. The next morning when I went to use them for their first test on the wakeskate I noticed that on the right shoe under the tongue it had a rip in it so I couldn't ride all weekend cause those were the only shoes I brought out. So today when I got back I had to return them and now I have to find them on the internet cause no active shop around me has them in my size. Anyone that knows a good spot to buy them please let me know. Once I get my new pair and use them I will give you another update on how they feel on the wakeskate and how much water they hold.
