They look pretty cool. Not really a fan of the outer material though if it's the same on the DVS Obscuras I bought recently, after a few incidents with some grip tape they show up a different colour underneath and stop looking so fresh. Although I guess it suits a purpose and it's better to have something that works well but doesn't look amazing...

heck yeah they sound awesome. I put in my order with ed for numerous pairs of size 6s in each color.

I haven't seen them in person, but they sound like they have that "waxed" material again, but this time they're taking advantage of the wear characteristics, so there will be an interesting pattern (or whatever) underneath. I agree in that the coating didn't stand up to a ton of wear (all around--including the Cadence shoes that this material was first used on). But the convict is a solid wakeskate shoe so I'm psyched they're using it again.

The new outer material is NOT the same as the first Obscura shoes. We wanted something that held up a bit better in the water, and are now using a material that has been used on a few DVS shoes in the past. These new shoes are going to be really good, and look for more Obscura/DVS collaborations in the near future.

Thanks,

Aaron

-=AlexXx=- this info was intended for users that don't sport ProKeds or whatever those things were called. haha

Obscura Can't wait to get some hombre. I also can't wait to snag a 42 concave. Actually, come to think of it, I'll probably need two. One for me and one for my dads dead animal room.

thanks for the correction aaron! It's hard to tell with the product description because it doesn't distinguish between the old technology and new advancements, specifically regarding the waterproof canvas and ctc technology (both of which I thought came from the dvs x cadence cycling line).
