I'm sorry to hear that man. I know how it feels to lose someone like that and it sucks right now but you will definitely get past it. If she ever had a doubt then it wasn't meant to be and there will someone who will outshine her soon.
You definitely will meet more people in college and that's where a lot of relationships that last start. But ya, it definitely going to burn right now.
You just can't let it effect your school. My first year of college a girl broke my heart and I didn't go to class and it killed my gpa. I did love again though so you will too!

I dated a girl from summer before senior year til the end of my first semester of college. I was head over heels. She broke up with me and it messed me up. I went from a 3.5gpa to a 1.7gpa. I stopped going to class and just wakeskated as much as possible instead. Sounds like fun, but it wasnt good. It took me a while to rebound from my mistakes with school and now I am finally in my last year of college, two years late :/
But like some of the guys said, you will meet someone who is much better for you.
We all go through it. You grow a lot from it |

remember that girl that me and alexxx were always fighting about? the last time i saw her she was walking home to the trailer park after her boyfriend got kicked out of a bar for trying to steal an entire plate of chicken wings, silverware and all.
life has a sense of humor, sometimes it just takes a bit to really appreciate it.
and on another note, its not like you would want to ride the same wakeskate for a year and a half. get some variety in your life, try out some new shapes and rockers or maybe even just ride a board for the cool graphics. its the end of one production run and time to test out the prototypes for the new year. |

Dang, didn't realize so many people went through something similar to me freshman year of college. After living it and moving on, I agree 100% with this:

It's tough but now you can feel free to do stuff for yourself for once. Have a blast, make mistakes, meet new people, enjoy the freedom and the time you have while you have it. I didn't (at least not to the fullest) and regret it almost every day now that I'm graduated and in the working world. |

man. i'm in college and don't any social things unless i'm out skating/wakeskating...never partied, had a drink, anything. I just recently decided to change that but haven't even started. I think about your last sentence everyday and hope i dont feel like a waste at the end.

Both of my last two relationships ended after a year and a half of complete dedication and monogamy. I thought I would marry each one at the time, respectively. I'm 34, have never been married and have no children.
Those experiences made me realize two important things:
1) I currently have a shelf-life of 1.5 years
2) Bitches be crazy
Don't sweat it man. Continue to be yourself and the rest will fall in place. Go shred something to unleash all the emotions you're feeling. Shredding will also give your mind some time off.

I've been going out with the same chick for 6 years now. And after lots of watching other long term relationships, most couples break up at 1 and 1/2 years and then 3 years. For some reason those are the two obstacles to overcome. We've never broken up, but I did notice that it was extra hard at those time periods.
Just give it a few days and you'll be fine, then giver her a call and talk it all out.

First of all, I'm surprised you came to this site with this story, I wish I would have when something similar happened to me a few years back. It will get better, it's hard to get her out of mind, but try hard. Find a rebound girl, and have some fun. That's how I met my current girlfriend, strictly rebound/booty call and we fell in love.

a girl broke up with me during my sophmore year at aTm. i had LOTSA fun, hooked back up with her over a year later, and now we have been happily married for the last eight.
