I have been riding the Mod 42 but it feels kind of bulky. I'm flirting with the idea of picking up the liquid force SST but I just don't know whether to go for the 40.5 or stick with the 42.... Any suggestions?

Thanks
Kai

I have the SST Reed. It"s kinda heavy, I would rather have the 40.5. It goes wake to wake better than my other boards.

How big are you? Do you want w2w or three shuvs?

If your not a midget id go with the 42,

p.s. be careful going w2w, sst's do break,

BB, of course you can, theres no winks here, I can do both with my 42 too,

but if he/she primarily wants w2w then 42, if he/she primarily wants 3 shuvs 40.5

this is all relative to Kaiceratops, size tho

but develop the nickname Kaiceratops im guessing he/shes bigger, bc you know dinasours are big

I'm only 5'11" 165lbs.. not a midget or a dinosaur. I am more interested in 3 shuvs (though I can't stick them yet) than wake to wake because I am only riding behind skiffs and whalers. I'm sure a 42 like my MOD would spin fine if I was better at wakeskating. How big are you dudes who ride the 40.5???

Thanks for the replies!

Kaiceratops, definately go with the 40.5. If you think the 42 mod feels bulky, the 42 sst will feel bigger and heavier. I have rode all those boards numerous times and the 42 feels like a monster compared to the 40.5.

I'd go with the 40.5, that's what I have and even still feel it's a little too large....but then again I am 5'4"

(awesome name btw Cool )

If you find the mod a bit bulky, why would you go for an SST? Confused

G.K.D., agree, maybe just get a smaller MOD, or an impluse, i ride a heritage 40.5 and im 6'2'' and 185... i just like the control and feel i have with a smaller deck, wake to wake is a bit harder though..

G.K.D., i think the sst rides a lot smoother than the mod

i rode all of the ssts from the 42proto to the 40.5 composite
my lil bro still rides a mod

i think the mod rides like a less awkward byerly

but the sst should ride a bit more forgiving thant the mod

i can only describe it as sharper (mod)
and the sst is flat-er

Well cool, sounds like the 40.5 will do it. I'll report back after I pull the trigger. Thanks for all the helpful comments guys!
