hopefully you saw this on the remote blog, but in case you didn't:
http://www.remotewakeskates.com/
• Wakeskating Pioneers: Wakeskating is an adaptation of wakeboarding in which riders are not bound to the board in any way, allowing for more technical skateboarding-influenced tricks like kickflips, as well as the use of water obstacles like rails and ramps. Wakeskaters can be towed behind boats, jet skis or even specially designed on-shore winches, making the rapidly growing sport much more accessible. Wakeskaters have typically worn skate shoes that provide maximum purchase on their boards but quickly get heavy and waterlogged. Teva riders Matt Hooker and Matt Crowhurst sport the Teva Gnarkosi which is a high-performance wakeskate water shoe and show us that the progression of wakeskating has no boundaries!

It's a pretty extreme combo, frye. I think those electric face emoticons are pretty appropriate right now! _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

frye, I bet you liked that pikes peak thing. I apologize for my dry sarcasm because by "hill climbing" I thought they meant some sort of weird extreme hiking or something...I didn't read the full description. You never know--they might have been using teva boots or something so it made sense in my mind.
So on that note...pikes peak AND wakeskating truly was an extreme combo. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

Haha I didn't even notice any sarcasm in your first post, I thought you were just as pumped as me.
On a side note, I missed this but I have it recorded at my friend's house 3 hours away. How was it? |

I would agree with what the others said. They did hit some cool gaps, and I think some comparable footage is on the vimeo thing for the stompin grounds video. And it was cool to see wakeskating on TV, but it seemed like it was directed more at the layman who didn't know what wakeskating was. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |
