I am looking into buying a new wakeskate and have narrowed it down to the Impulse and the SST. Im looking for some opinions on the two to help me decide which one to buy. I understand that riding each would help me see the main differences. Help would be much appreciated.

thanks

Id rather keep the simplex haha. I found a new 2010 SST for a good deal so I may go with the SST, but then I like the new 2011 Impulse. I guess I will just have to ride them both and see what I like better.

I haven't rode the new sst but i liked riding mine for a while, forgiving, floaty, heavy great for boat and stuff
idk about the new impules either but it looks amazing
like the older reed concave

the perfect ski winch board

When summer hits I will be riding behind a boat and ski more often.

i have a 2010 40.5 sst, and i love it, its cool cause my front foot can be right on the start of the nose kicktail without making me have a super wide stance. but i think it just comes down to preference. i've ridden the blend, and it much heavier and taller than the sst. the sst is as in between a bi and a flat that you can get.. but the impulse and sst are such different boards i think it comes down to personal preference..

It just take saving up some money and finding side work.

Saving indeed. And yea it would either be a 2010 40.5 SST or a 2011 impulse. I'm going to try and demo both so I can get a feel for which one I prefer.

I have three boards (two remotes and a lf mod) and I just got them as bday/mxas presents. Were not rich im just the favorite... Lol jk (kinda)

My point is I'm set on boards for a while. I'm going to get comfortable with
My boards and skate the hell out of them. The only board I really want is an integrity but they're freaking expensiveeeeee.

JJ-West, What cable are you going to? If you go to WSR, I will let you ride my SST or Impulse anytime I am out there. I definitely think that you should demo both boards and pick the one you like. The SST is going to last a lot longer if you are hitting obstacles.

I do go to WSR and occasionally TSR. That would be awesome if I could test out your boards. I hear there is a new cable park being built in allen as well as cowtown in fort worth. They will be sick once they open.

The impulse is a sick board, but my friends started to delaminate after the first boat set without hitting any rails. I'd go with the SST 40.5
