Lately off of the Jupiter Inlet there has been a lot more sharks than usual. We've been seeing some of the biggest sharks I have ever seen. I have never seen these hammerheads in so many numbers before. I've gotten a few photos of a 15 foot hammerhead and video of a bull shark biting my camera.

The photos of the hammerhead are here http://www.ejpeterson.com/

and here is the video of the bull. I'll be going out later this week and getting more photos.

Enjoy

Hey man, not raggin on your video, but from the looks of things, that bull shark was just checkin out your camera. Sharks have a heap of receptors under their nose which pick up electrical signals in the water (like what a fish/stingray gives off when distressed or breathing). They go up and nudge against it first then check out if it is edible then go in for the bite. It was probs picking up the fact that your gopro (or whatever you are using) is discharging a bit of a charge into the water. That being said I have definately seen a lot more sharks in closer to where I live in the last like 5 years.
Also such a rad video. I def am going to have to try attachin my gopro to my line next time to see what is around. Any chance you can PM me how ya did it, dont wanna drop my camera down into the water and lose it lol Razz

JonnyBravo, There were teeth marks in the mount that i made. The gopro is sitting on top of this decent sized contraption. Thats why you can't tell he bit it. i'll PM you a picture of the thing I made. It works really well and stays perfectly stable.

Chad H, nice dude Smash good eats. you keep it?

EJazzle,
Not that one. We were pretty far down the beach and I was more focused on drinking... We kept one last week and fried it up. It was delicious.

We caught a bunch of scallop hammerheads the other night. I'll post a picture this afternoon.
