I wondered why you guys where doing this, and if the motors where reversible.
My buddy has a zipline of a pond and ive always pondered getting two winches on on either side of the zipline then have basicly a system 2.

11RANDOMNESS, safety is our greatest problem with this system.
the loads for the cable tension, all that good stuff is going to make it hard to keep it a reality for a truly portable 2.0
but the tech is out there, and we are going to figure it out for the future!
for everyone!
this is just a new mock up
our new lithium ion batteries are going into this frame too, and its actually going to be smaller overall
no more battery cart

I had a dream and I figured out how to make it safe.
This is going to change it up for winching.
You are going to be able to remove the directional system and use it as a winch
And No tension required! Use any length directional system, just depends on the location and what you can mount from.
And no cables!

supermanotorious, Yep, I am really excited. We will have this working this year. Probably going to have to take it to expo. Its going to be awesome. Just a few things to figure out as far as safety concerns of mine. Keeping new users from crashing the car into the pulleys is going to be interesting.
I really think we have something that everyone is going to want to have for their Pro shops, and demo tours.

I've been thinking abou this for a long time, I think a better system would be similar to how chair lifts work, the car should be able to travel around the pulley, then the cable "driver" has very little work to do and you could use a gas engine, how do we get the car to pass the pulley?

It would have to be a fixed permanent pulley.
There is no way to do that with climbing gear, take it up and down easily.

I very much doubt that this will work on a gas winch without some serious design work. Not to say impossible. You would just have to build it the way sesitec does and use a gas motor in place of the electric one. It would be a design wonder to make it work as both winch and system though. If you didnt need to move it , no problem.
I am working on trying to make it possible to run this anywhere you can hook up two pulleys. It will also not require the "straight" cable layout either. You could pull at any angle.
Brown circles are trees
Black circles are Pulleys

supermanotorious, You just gave me an idea though
What if you had a place at home to install a passing car pulley and you could use the system to drive the rope past it, like in my picture the pulley to the left across the water, could pass a car, then you could ride across, on the lower direction, up to the top right, back to the bottom left then finally back to the start
Essentially doubling the length of ride area
You can't do that with a 2.0

this is a rad idea, its awesome to see new ideas come to life. when I was thinking about this, my suggestion would be to run your marketing stronger toward the backyard system 2 type setup, rather than the system 2 setup anywhere. my personal thought for this is just from my experience in winching, you have the possible bust factor, and on top of that, me being a student and I work near full time I rarely have more than two hours at a time to go winch. so in other words, any extra time setting up is not desired. so a more permanent at home/cabin or whatever type setup would be very realistic I think.
regardless of this opinion tho I love seeing this new idea. keep it up!!

i think it could be up and pulling in under 45 to an hr (how ever long it takes to climb two trees and steak the winch)
so if you had a no bust factor or a nice place for a rail park it would change the game.
we might hit the marketing harder , we might not
we really are the only ones doing this so those who have heard know how to find us.
i could care less if all the strapper community knows, they are focused on surf wakes

I wouldn't mind allocating an engine just for a tower system if we could figure out how to do it, finding a location would be tough here in the desert but then again, with a complete system ready to go, it might not be a hard sell, if we figure out the passing car, like really figure it out, I will pay for aluminum towers to make it truly transportable, I am willing to do this now, just need to know how to build the "passing car"
