Yes seriuosly. Sorry I don't have hrs of free time to go through every post and winch design to make sure I'm not close to someones design. Other than the base being similar, it's definately different. If you've ever designed or built anything you'd be able to see the obvious differences and time spent paying attention to detail on my design

thatwasrad, Jeff posted those blue prints like 5 years ago and A LOT of people have used that design to work from since then. No one said this winch wasn't solid work or looked like crap, but don't come on here acting like you didn't use other winch designs as inspiration. That's like someone making a homemade concave and coming on here claiming it's 100% their design.. not so much.

Sick winch, let's see it in action.

guess i better call some winch companies and say sorry for using a rope and spool and motor too and copying that idea as well hahaha. check out when i "became a member" and you'll notice im new to the site and built it off my own desgin that my head created... no where did i say theres nothing else out there close

But again thanks to you guys that liked it. it was originally gonna be basic but i do body and paint work so i thought i might as well do a little somethin to make it look cool

Hey a question to you winch guru's out there...
I tried out the winch yesterday after we finsihed my A Frame rail and it didnt seem to get up to spped fast enough. Top speed was pretty good (about 22), but it took off slow (we were starting off the shore sitting down to avoid a full deep water start, instead of off of a starting deck im used to at a rail jam).

Oh and its a 6.5hp with a 12 sprocket and 60 sprocket with a 7.5" spool ID (havent removed the govenor yet though)

Nobody cares when you became a member or who's winches you looked to for inspiration, that's the best part about building one yourself. Why are you getting so defensive? Just build it and shred behind it, no reason to get all cocky. Your winch is sick dude.

Same design, different tubing. I'm guessing the releasing spool was your idea too?

Thanks Jeff Knox, for helping wakeskaters winch wherever they want.

He obviously came up with the releasing spool... "100% his design", cant you read? haha jk that was totally pulldozer. but who needs a releasing spool anyways, its only hard to pull out the rope if you are a twelve year old girl and i hope you are not winching with twelve year old girls without adult supervision or things might get weird. It does not look like he has a tav on there which is his first problem, and i hope thats a one inch axle or you might run into some problems. I could be wrong but it looks kinda small in the pic.
