| Ok I am new here but I have been wakeskating for about a year now and I want to upgrade my board. I am riding an O'brien fuse 103" foam top, the board is ok but I am looking for a grip tape top board where I can wear shoes with it. I am looking at the 2009 Byerly blend 41". It seems that from the 2009 blend to the 2011 blend nothing has changed is this true? I also hear that the bi-level boards have much more pop and ride smoother so im very interested in the byerly blend. Can some people just give me some pointers on this board and help me in the right direction I would like to order one soon, thanks! |

Welcome to The Wonderful World of Wakeskating.com maxzach,
First of all, you can wear shoes with any wakeskate. (Even your foam top )
I haven't ridden a blend since the '09 model (mainly because I'm no fan of bi-levels) but it had nice pop, really deep channels that held edge well, but it was huge. It felt like i was riding a tank but also take into account i ride a really light integ.

this is not true. I would say they have "different" pop. I can pop just as high on my integ as any bi-level. It's just a different feel.
And as far as the ride, i find bi-level's to be more abrupt (less smooth) when initiating/landing tricks. I hope that makes sense but that could also be due to my being used to a concave.
So in the end (and to make everything i just typed pointless) it's all preference i'd definitely see if i could try someones bi-level before i dropped a load of cash on one, just don't try a deuce pop
Have fun wakeskating bro, stay on the forums. It's usually some pretty useful/not useful at all but funny stuff. _________________ When it rains, it pours. |

Any board. The new CWB concave is ridiculously sick (though i'm not sure if it's even available to the public yet ). Remote's as reliable as they come. Integrity/Mutiny's always pushing out prefect works of art. etc.
Just find a company you think is worthy of your support and buy one of their decks. _________________ When it rains, it pours. |

i've ridden lots of bi levels and the blend was poppy, but tall for my liking, i ride a 40.4 sst now and love it, but i might be switching to a flat deck, its been said, its all preference. but i like both, the nice thing about a flat is that you can feel the water right under your foot, bi's feel like your back foot is "floating" i dunno, flats just give a better feel.
if i could ride a cassette bi-level and not break it, thats how i would like to. those snapped so good. |

| i dont like bi-levels, they feel too choppy and i feel like i have to try like 10 times harder to get a trick around and they do have good pop but i can pop my integrity just as good its just a way differnt feel. its all what you like though i would go out and try the board you want first and see how you like it, but like everyone else says dont get a deuce pop i had one, worst board ove ever rode hahah. |
