yeah 416, i spend more time talking with people about it than riding behind it.
we used it right down town minden at the river, and it causes traffic jams from people trying to figure out how you are riding without boat.
ill post a link to the article once its done.

I custom built the exhaust. Its made from 1" mandrel bent tubing. and has a slp silencer on it. i also had it ceramic coated and wrapped with heat shiled wrap.

I'm comfortable bending the pipe, how did you create the flange to mount it to the engine block, it looks lik you may have cut the factory exhaust flange about 1.5" up the pipe and simply welded to that...? would you mind shooting a video with the mic near the silencer while the engine is running so we can hear how well it quiets your winch?

supermanotorious, I cut the stock pipe going to the muffler and welded the 1" tubing to that. the pipe is the same size as the stock exhust. the silencer really doesnt mke it that much quiter. It gives the engine a really nice sound, sort of sounds like 4 stroke 600 single atv with a pipe on it.

thanks for the info, I'm creating a gas powered winch to be almost silent, I've heard of attaching a hose to the exhaust and running it into the water, I am going to attempt to fabricate those custom exhausts without cutting the stock muffler and provide a hose adapter or come up with something else

The silencer was for racing go karts, so i was aware it would be loud.
i also had to rejet the carb to get the engine to run right, with the pipe on it.

I'm glad you mentioned that, from my research it looks like putting 2 mufflers in series may be the answer, how do you adjust the carb in these types of engines? PM me your address and shirt size and I'll send you a Phoenix Winch shirt if you want
