Two things:

1: Coil it like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3j1Wdc-ymbI&feature=related

2: every now and then tie the handle to the back of your ski/boat, cast the line out into the lake and drive along for a few minutes to allow the line to untwist.

This has been my recipe for success with my A-Line for a 3 or so years, and I rarely have any tangles. (Usually because some of my friends don't know how to coil the line properly when they pull it in.)

cable coated work the best hands down. even when it does knot up it comes out with some shaking. coil it the same direction and size from new and it will be pretty easy to keep up with. also agree with letting it out behind the boat once and a while.

what have you found better? over the years i've gone from slalom line to braided/woven non stretch, to "yellow jacket", to coated lines and have not had anything but great things to say about a coated line of any kind. just what i have come to like in my experiences.

well.....i like the vid dragoon........who da thunka. i tried it with a coated rope Confused i will try with the "yellow jacket" fo sho mojo....

IMO opinion that jacket series by accurate from like 5 years ago....best ropes eva/
i'm w Scott on the coated ropes
coated ropes are smooth at first......give em a set or two and forget about it

Smash

i just untangled one that had 25 knots in it Embarassed so any way......

the coated rope i tied the handle to the other end of the rope...i'm thinkin this might give me the effect of throwing it out backwardz behind the boat like y'all said
to coil i put the end loop on my thumb over the back of my hand and flex my bis like after a thrilling set to feel the burn so deep and to make the ladies peep i hold that pose....flexing the whole time of course Twisted Evil and i wrap the rope around my arm nearest my armpiit then back up to my straightened hand and in between my index and thumb 7 times...lucky 7.... Cool then 7 between the pointer and middle.....then 7 between the middle and ring, then 7 or so more to finish up between your ring and pinky. now everytime you go under your arm you wanna gradually work your way from your armpit to your elbow..... but don't start to deep in the arm pit......now bone out your elbow like freedom Smash pokemon himself that joker and you should be able to loosen the coil and slide it neatly, stacked and ready to go off your arm.

al i hear ya on the tie but lets face it....if you don't have velcroe you might as well be drinkin Tab Confused those things are dirty.

I still have one of the original A-lines from 2005. A bit sunfaded, but other then that it's solid and knot free...

Yes, but you take better care of your gear than 90% of all boaters.

I've seen coated ropes shredded from people using them to tie up to the dock with. Obviously using a towline isnt ideal for this but if youre in a bind it's nice to be able to do this without it wrecking your mainline. Another thing you cant do with coated lines is tie knots in them to make them shorter. On Sunday I saw someone cutting their mainline off the tower because they shortened the line up for a rider not knowing that you cant do this with a coated line. The knot they tied would have come out if they were using a non-coated line, but the coating compressed into itself and it had to be cut off.
